5.0 out of 5 stars Best Case I've had, February 10, 2006
By

This review is from: iSkin Duo for iPod nano (Blue/Green) (Electronics)
After breaking my ipod mini by dropping it, I was careful about my selection of a case for my nano. Originally I was going to try an aluminum case but decided to go with this one. I'm glad I did, as the belt clip on this one is much more sturdy for running than my aluminum case, and it has protectors for the ports.

To the previous commenter who couldn't figure out which ones glow, it does say on their web site. Here's the link that tells which glow and which do not:

[...]

Or just go to www.iskin.com -> store -> select iskin Duo for ipod nano and you're there. There's a little circle next to the ones that glow that says "glo".

The screen protector issue is nonexistent for me. It was tough to install to avoid the issue of distorting the outer edges of the screen, but after a couple of tries I was able to set it properly so that I can see the time etc. on the screen perfectly. My suggestion to anyone who sees distortion is to read the directions on inserting the ipod into the iskin and to try the "recommended install" versus the "easy install". I'd like to see an easier way to do this, but for me it was worth the frustration.

Finally, my complaint. This thing attracts lint and dust like crazy. It picks up whatever little crumbs, dustpieces, etc might be at the bottom of my backpack or purse and hangs onto them until I wipe it off. Luckily it's easy to clean.

A final caveat- if you have a setup where you dock your ipod into a cradle of some sort, this may become a pain. Holding the little protective flap open to plug my ipod into the cable while my ipod is in its cradle is a bit awkward. Luckily the cradle was adjustable-if not, it wouldn't be able to sit in the cradle at all.

Overall, though, I am so happy with this case that I plan on getting another color soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Very Cool Case!, June 23, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: iSkin Duo for iPod nano (Blue/Green) (Electronics)
I think this is a very good case for your iPod nano. The case is made up of two layers that work together as shocks in case you drop it or bump it against something. You can use them to gether or separately, although just the outer layer is a little loose around your nano. The gel-like material feels like it would protect the nano well from cracking if dropped. This case comes with a crystal-clear,hard-plastic screen protector that does NOT scratch the screen if you put it in correctly. It also comes with a click-wheel cover that inserts easily between the layers. It is made out of a material like a plastic drink lid from Burger King, but it works well and does not look cheap in the case, either, because it is kind of foggy. The click-wheel cover barely interferes with the sensitivity of the wheel, but you don't need it;the first layer of the duo has a built-in protector on it already. There is access to both ports and the hold switch with the case on,and there are handy port covers to keep dust out.The duo does collect dust and lint easily, but comes of just as easy with a Wet Wipe.Unless you just store dust in your bag the duo stays pretty clean in your pocet, purse,or bag.The clip works very well, rotates to a 180 degree angle, and is removeable. The material is high-quality,and the design is awesome.I got the "Sonic Boom" colored case, and the colors are more green and yellow than blue and lime green,as it show in the picture, but only if you use the cases together,do the colors change. The distortion also made the case look a little more girly, for those of you who are anti-feminine-looking products, like my brother is.You can go to iskin.com and apple.com for more information and reviews, different colored cases, and matching earphones to go with the cases. And your case may not come with this, but just to let you know, mine included a complimentary one-month membership card for audible.com,a site that has audio books and stuff to load onto your iPod.My overall summary of this case:great looks,high-quality,reasonable price,I would very highly reccomend this case.I think it definently competes with the best iPod nano cases out there. Thanks for reading, and happy shopping!

5.0 out of 5 stars Eye Candy, Safety, and Ease of Use!, August 14, 2006

I love this case! The beauty of the Nano is its size and portability, but I never took it anywhere before I got the case, because I was afraid of damaging it. I fell in love with the iSkin Duo because of its great looks: the colour interplay is real eye candy! Who knew I'd be even more impressed by the sure grip it gives me on the Nano, its protective flaps over the docking and earbud ports, and the slight tackiness of the inner skin's making the clickwheel easier to use? I ditched the beltclip immediately, although it seemed quite sturdy: I'm just not a beltclip kind of gal. It was easy to slip the Nano into the inner case, even easier to put on the outer skin, and the screen cover popped into place between them without any difficulty and stays put. No problems so far with lint attraction, as it wipes off easily enough. My biggest problem? Now I want one for my video iPod, and they don't make a Duo for it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best iPod case, July 27, 2006
This review is from: iSkin Duo for iPod nano (Blue/Green) (Electronics)
I've had the iSkin for a few months now. This is my 3rd iPod and 3rd iSkin. I also have the Duo for the shuffle and the one for the older 40GB click wheel iPod (the one with the black and white screen).

What really separates this case from all the rest is the removable belt clip. On this case, you can remove the belt clip and the support on the case so it is smooth. Other cases that I looked at had a removable belt clip too but you could not remove the support so it left a hard plastic bump.

I also like the screen protector is very clear and it is easy to order a replacement in case it gets too scratched.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really awesome iskin!, July 10, 2006

I've had this iskin for a month and have not had any problems with it at all. I haven't noticed the lint/fuzz problem as a previous review mentioned but I don't keep a lot of junk in my bag either. The two skins were easy to put on and inserting the clear cover for the screen was very simple. The cover does move around a bit but it's not something you are constantly fiddling with. Great buy on this one!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Looks and Great Protection, August 23, 2007

Admittedly, this is the first and only case I've purchased for my first and only iPod. However, after reading others' reviews I was sold, and so far I've been quite pleased with this product. The dual layers provide excellent protection and cushioning (I haven't dropped it yet, but if I did I wouldn't be too worried) and the whole thing looks great, too.

I feel the positives of this product outweigh the negatives, but if they ever tweak the design to address the following issues, I'd definitely upgrade. a) the hold button is hard to get to; b) the charger and headphone openings on the bottom are not aligned perfectly (but because the case is stretchy you can adjust them as necessary to insert the cords); and c) while the click wheel cover provides complete protection, it can make navigating a little clumsy. Also, like many others have mentioned, while the material's slight stickiness makes the iPod easier to hang on to, it also attracts and holds on to dust and lint...but hey, better on the case than the iPod, right?

5.0 out of 5 stars Good buy, November 5, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: iSkin Duo for iPod nano (Blue/Green) (Electronics)
I had read the previous reviews on this about how the skin collects lint when you put it in your pocket so that worried me. I've had it for several months now and I found that is a very minor issue. I just use a moist lens wipe and the lint comes right off and it looks brand new. The skin itself is awesome, but I wish it glowed! Another weird thing is the assembly: the nano slides in through the window, which is do-able, but difficult. And I had originally thought that the screen protector was part of the skin, but that's separate and slips inbetween the two skins, which is a little difficult to position. Overall, very happy with it! Highly recommend.
