Poor battery life compared to BIGGER models by other brands,
By
This review is from: iTouchless Fully Automatic Stainless Steel Touchless Trash Can TX 1.5 Gallon, Stainless Steel. (Kitchen)
The engineers who designed this product totally phoned it in. If they took a look around at other, older products when they designed it, they would have used counterbalancing, more efficient electric motors and gears, etc. to come up with an even halfway reasonable battery life. As a simple, obvious and damning point of comparison, the batteries in my tall/larger kitchen version by another manufacturer need replacing after about a year of frequent use every day. Whereas, this poorly designed product lasts about a month -- with twice the number of AA batteries!I hope the manufacturer finally fesses up, but until then (if ever), vote with your wallets and avoid this clunker completely.

Less useful than a manual trash can,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Within a few weeks of buying this trash can it began to stop closing by itself. Now it remains open with each use over half the time, pretty much removing any value for its automatic features (especially since its instructions prohibit manually opening or closing the lid). So after using it one must wait until it times out before seeing whether it will do its thing or have to be closed manually.

Darn! Forgot about the cabinet door!,
By SF Fan (MD) - See all my reviews However, I ordered this trash can to go inside a cabinet and forgot to account for the fact that when the cabinet door closes it comes within 6" of the sensor. Since it doesn't seem to have a "time out", that means the lid stays open "forever" (or at least until I open the cabinet door...but that's generally when I need to use it!) I also looked for a way to reduce the sensor's sensitivity, but no luck. Anything you put on it (like tape) triggers the sensor (duh!) *sigh* Do I send it back or do I just turn it off and lose the "touchless" feature I wanted?
