Customer Reviews

The seal is not "air tight" and liquids will leak out.

I am not going to return this item, but I wouldn't have purchased it had I known it worked this poorly.
Falucka
I couldn't get this to seal without tearing up the bags.

This bag re-sealer works great. I have had no problems with it. I suspect that the people who said that it didn't work did not flip the safety guard up to expose the heat sealer. I also suspect that the people who report that it uses up their batteries did not flip the guard back down when they were finished with the sealer. I really appreciate the fact that this sealer is magnetized. It will stick to your refrigerator, so there's no need to hunt for it when you need it. This gadget really helps to keep foods fresh, and it saves money and the environment by allowing re-use of the foods' original packaging. Just take a minute to read the very brief instructions that come with it and you won't have any problems using it.

This product seems very easy to use and should be, however, it is tricky to get a consistent line to seal from edge to edge. I am still playing around with it to figure out an easier way. When done right it definately seals and keeps your chips fresh longer then just rolling and using a chip clip would. I would recommend for sure, but remember that practice makes perfect on its use.

Good price, quality item, however, you have to insert the batteries every time you use this and take them out when you're not using it. There is no on/off button or switch, it's just powered by the batteries. It does heat up quickly, but I just felt as though my excitement fizzled when I put it together and used it. Overall okay, but kind of more of a hassle than a quick helper.

This sealer works pretty well as a kitchen gadget. It does what it is supposed to do. It won't work with rechargeable batteries because of their lower voltage but works pretty well on alkaline batteries. There is a balance to be found between sealing speed and the pressure that you apply but it only takes a minute to figure out.

Now... for those of you using this in unusual ways (like myself), this sealer doesn't do a good job at making large airtight bags. It would be perfectly fine for sealing up a bag of chips if there was a pinhole leak but if you want to make a perfectly airtight seal then you are going to have to find something else unless you are some sort of super heat sealing ninja. There are always going to be tiny leaks here and there with this device.

I have just received my set of re-sealers. I started not to buy them because of some of the reviews, but I kept reading and many said to just make sure you read the instructions. When they came I did just that. Then I used the re-sealers and WOW! They worked perfectly! I do a lot of baking in my family, and being able to reseal bags keeps me from having to roll them or rubber band them and hope nothing gets in. My confectioners sugar looks like I never opened it! I have sealed potato chip bags, cereal bags, sugar, my GF bread mix bags, etc. Yes, I have used it quite a bit. It does heat up in 3 seconds, and as long as you go smoothly across (it doesn't have to be totally straight-we're not machines) and then turn the bag over and go across again you will have a great seal. Great product!

iTouchless Bag Re-Sealer (2-Packs)
This nifty little resealer works as well as expected. Beware, though. It doesn't tell you that there is a little knife edge inside the tiny square heated sealer (see the little white spot in the picture), that is very sharp. Even if the sealer is not heated, you can cut yourself easily.

Also, the bags must be sealed slowly, but not TOO slowly so that they seal, and cut at the same time, which takes a bit of practice. I recommend that you use old grocery bags to practice on. Otherwise, you're good to go. I used mine to make my own hanging garden bags out of thick black plastic.

Just got this in, works with two AA batteries, has a switch guard so it won't normally get turned on and burned out when it's in the "everything drawer.

Pros:
Works with chip bags, has a switch guard, small convenient.

Cons:
Won't work with thicker foil lined bags like coffee bags, or for sealing together "pouch" type bags for crafting (capri-sun, etc.). May work with potato chip bags, but we don't usually have them here.

Overall: Great for sealing thinner bags that won't be used for awhile, like chip bags that tend to last us at least four weeks, also for sealing sandwich bags that will be used once or twice that don't have the "zip top" seals (which will save you money if you use bags for lunches for the school kids).

Get a lot of conversation talk about this and how the bags are sealed. It seals pretty well, I just have to make sure it's completely sealed. Sometimes its hard to get the edges sealed right so no air leaks out, but I do recommend this. :)
