The seal is not "air tight" and liquids will leak out.

I am not going to return this item, but I wouldn't have purchased it had I known it worked this poorly.

If you are trying to seal plastic bags it kinda burns it off and cuts the edge off.

This bag re-sealer works great. I have had no problems with it. I suspect that the people who said that it didn't work did not flip the safety guard up to expose the heat sealer. I also suspect that the people who report that it uses up their batteries did not flip the guard back down when they were finished with the sealer. I really appreciate the fact that this sealer is magnetized. It will stick to your refrigerator, so there's no need to hunt for it when you need it. This gadget really helps to keep foods fresh, and it saves money and the environment by allowing re-use of the foods' original packaging. Just take a minute to read the very brief instructions that come with it and you won't have any problems using it.

This product seems very easy to use and should be, however, it is tricky to get a consistent line to seal from edge to edge. I am still playing around with it to figure out an easier way. When done right it definately seals and keeps your chips fresh longer then just rolling and using a chip clip would. I would recommend for sure, but remember that practice makes perfect on its use.

This sealer works pretty well as a kitchen gadget. It does what it is supposed to do. It won't work with rechargeable batteries because of their lower voltage but works pretty well on alkaline batteries. There is a balance to be found between sealing speed and the pressure that you apply but it only takes a minute to figure out.

Now... for those of you using this in unusual ways (like myself), this sealer doesn't do a good job at making large airtight bags. It would be perfectly fine for sealing up a bag of chips if there was a pinhole leak but if you want to make a perfectly airtight seal then you are going to have to find something else unless you are some sort of super heat sealing ninja. There are always going to be tiny leaks here and there with this device.

Works just as it should! seals the bags & keeps the stuff in that should stay in.. and the stuff out that should stay out! I use it on ziploc style bags that I put in the freezer for a long time to be sure they don't pop open in the freezer.

It works best if you close it for a second before you start running it along the bag so that it can heat up first. Don't go too fast or it won't seal.. and don't go too slow or you will just seal the end and melt the rest of the bag off (unless that is exactly what you are wanting to do.. then it works great to do that too, even on thicker ziplock tops of freezer bags)

I was hesitant given that it's rather low cost for a heat sealer.. but Love it & works perfectly!!

Get a lot of conversation talk about this and how the bags are sealed. It seals pretty well, I just have to make sure it's completely sealed. Sometimes its hard to get the edges sealed right so no air leaks out, but I do recommend this. :)

I have just received my set of re-sealers. I started not to buy them because of some of the reviews, but I kept reading and many said to just make sure you read the instructions. When they came I did just that. Then I used the re-sealers and WOW! They worked perfectly! I do a lot of baking in my family, and being able to reseal bags keeps me from having to roll them or rubber band them and hope nothing gets in. My confectioners sugar looks like I never opened it! I have sealed potato chip bags, cereal bags, sugar, my GF bread mix bags, etc. Yes, I have used it quite a bit. It does heat up in 3 seconds, and as long as you go smoothly across (it doesn't have to be totally straight-we're not machines) and then turn the bag over and go across again you will have a great seal. Great product!

This product barely works. I tried it on a bag of potato chips and it did not seal effortlessly. I tried it on a bag of cereal and it wouldn't seal properly. I tried it on another bag of chips a day later and it wouldn't work at all. I tried new batteries, waiting a few days. It stopped working.

Good price, quality item, however, you have to insert the batteries every time you use this and take them out when you're not using it. There is no on/off button or switch, it's just powered by the batteries. It does heat up quickly, but I just felt as though my excitement fizzled when I put it together and used it. Overall okay, but kind of more of a hassle than a quick helper.
