The lock feels well built and looks very professional when installed.

I have been using it for 5 years, changed the batteries only once for better performance.
Susana Tong
It seems to try to read the heat patterns of a finger and NOT the fingerprint.

It works perfectly for me! I even figured out that it has to detect a pulse to work properly (Which is a problem for my aunt, she has a very weak pulse, but that's another story). The ability to use a password is still much better that having to dig out keys. Another feature I like is that the door automatically locks behind you, but you can turn this feature off and on if you want.

The product is impressive and works great. However, mine does not read fingerprints anymore. It turns on the light but never "beeps", and I am sure it is not a programming problem (I am a software developer myself).
I have to enter my house using only the buttons or key :(.

I've had this unit for 4+ years and it still works and looks great. But, as with others, mine quit reading fingerprints as well. The One Slight Problem. And the factory was worthless when contacted. I'm sure they know the problem but they're not sharing. So, here you go...
Looking at the back of the unit in an upright position, at the bottom of the the top circuit board there are 8 connection points, the two on the left are unused. Just empty holes in the board. The six to the right are soldered points where the fingerprint reader board is connected to the main board. The two soldered points to the far right are labled TD & RD. These two points are the paths where the fingerprint reader board communicates with the main board. Transmit and Receive. These solder joints are faulty. Mine were blackish where a good solder joint should be shiny silver, like you see on the rest of the circuit board. These six solder points need to be re-soldered and your fingerprint reader will start letting you in your door again.
Be careful. The circuit board is fragile and can be burned easily. I used a 15 watt iron (from Radio Shack) but only tried this because I've been used to soldering for 35 years. Part of my work. If soldering is not your thing maybe a TV repair shop could help? But this solution does get the unit working again.
While you have the unit apart, try some CLP on the moving parts. I was amazed at how stiff mine had become without my realizing it! My unit is now working like new, well worth the effort. Best of luck!

My wife & I love this thing! It's been well over seven months since we had it and it has worked very well/no issues. The construction of this unit is a top notch all metal design, very sturdy.(make sure you choose the correct lock for your left or right opening door). Programming was very easy, but i believe non-tech people will need a techy person to help them. Now let me comment on how well it works. The finger print recognition works 8 or 9 times out of 10. I've realized that you should program it with the natural finger position your going to use when ever you want to open the door or just remember the position your finger is in when you program it. If you do this it will always open for you(10 out of 10). I've also noticed that if your hands are very dirty or ice cold the sensor cannot "see" your finger print, so make sure your hand is somewhat clean and you aren't ice cold. The option to type a code in is a plus and the ability to use the override key will reassures the ability to get into your property, but I've never had to use either method.I will definitely recommend this to a friend. The convenience of not having to fondle around for keys to open the door is darn near priceless. Whenever I'm carrying my child or bags I just lift a finger and I'm in the house.....I absolutely love it ! You can't beat fingerprint security and convince. If your thinking about it- just buy it. I did and I'm very pleased. Now I'm going out to by one of those smart-key(key-less) cars.

The Bio-matic door lock is a great asset on keyless entry with no other device, accessory, etc. needed other then your fingertip/print.
Some other customers give bad reviews due to failed print captures. When I put my wifes print in memory, I captured her full end digit of her index finger, then I watched how she pressed her finger for entry access when she said it wouldn't read right, She was only applying the tip of her finger in which the memory has the full digit and she is only giving half the ridge detail the Bio-matic is looking for.

Also, We as Human beings use are finger/hands to pick things up at least 200 times a day, if you abrase/scuff or scar the finger/print/ridge detail in question, you won't gain entry till it heals or you re-do your print, then it heals and you re-do again.
I like it some much, I've bought another, that covers 2 out of the 4 entry/exits at our residence!

The keyless entry system was indeed easy to install and to program. Worked like a charm for about 7 months, but after that it no longer read fingerprints. I tried resetting it, changing the batteries but could not get it to read fingerprints anymore. Now it only operates with the number codes. I looked up on the iTouchless website and found out that the product had a two-year warranty. The company shipped me a new unit and I returned my old one. The new one is working fine now. The only suggestion I would have is that the company should pick up the shipping costs for replacement products. Aside from that, the customer service was very good and responsive to my needs.
