Itouchless 2 compartment trashcan,
By
This review is from: iTouchless 16 Gallon Dual-Compartment Automatic Sensor Touchless Recycle Bin/Trash Can (Kitchen)
I purchased the itouchless 2 compartment recycle center trashcan about 6 months ago. Yesterday the hindge on the lid snapped and a piece of it went flying off. My husband and I heard it snap all the way from another room so we weren't even using it at the time. Since the hindge just snapped while it was not being opened or closed and the trashcan has only received the normal house hold useage I would say that it is a design flaw. I will post further on my experience with tying to have it replaced under warranty.
As far as the touchless control goes the control easily becomes confused and has to be reset by having to press the controls on the front of the trashcan. This happens several times a day so it does kind of defeat the whole not having to touch a dirty trash can sales pitch.

Dont waste your money, the product doesn't work!,
By Kim "scubagirl9" (Cleveland OH) - See all my reviews
This review is from: iTouchless 16 Gallon Dual-Compartment Automatic Sensor Touchless Recycle Bin/Trash Can (Kitchen)
I purchased this product a few months back. One the very first day we had the product, the lid did not function properly. Not only that, but the unit seemed "used" or refurbished at best. We could have lived with this if it had worked properly. The lid would make an attempt to open, but not seem to have enough umf to complete the task, despite brand new batteries installed. After being reset, the unit work a few times, but then fail to work properly several times throughout the day. We had hoped the unit might work itself out, but after a few days, we contacted the seller and got a replacement shipped to us. The replacement worked no better than the original. This time we noticed a piece of paper in the product box that said to contact the manufacturer (iTouchless) directly, rather than to return the product, for any disatisfaction with the product. Since we had already delt with the seller once, we thought we should try this more direct route. iTouchless sent us a new lid to install on the product. The directions to do the installation were not accurate. Furthermore, once we figured out the correct way to replace the lid, it was extremely difficult and time consuming to attempt. I contacted iTouchless to let them know that we were not able to make the lid exchange (several screws were stripped from the factory!!)They basically told me....so sad...too bad! You see, they ONLY WARRANTY THE LID! ...not the whole trash can! And if you can't remove the lid to replace it yourself with the new one, your just plain out of luck. Way to stand behind your product iTouchless!! The product is not exactly cheap, but the customer care you will receive from iTouchless is!! All that I have written here does not even reflect all the difficulty I had in getting someone at iTouchless customer service to call me back. Several times they did not. I had to keep trying over the course of several different days. The person who answers the phone is always the same, which makes me think the company is actually very small. Gloria in customer service was extremely unhelpful and has no real authority to do anything further for you. Yet, no one higher up than her will come to the phone or call you back. You have no further recourse other than to do what I finally did, which was to ultimately return it AGAIN to the place of purchase, but this time for a full refund. My final note....DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME ON THIS PRODUCT! It is a nice idea...but DOES NOT WORK!

Touch free clean recycle,
By Mike Thompson (New York, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: iTouchless 16 Gallon Dual-Compartment Automatic Sensor Touchless Recycle Bin/Trash Can (Kitchen)
I got this recycle center last week and I love it. The included two plastic buckets hold a lot of bottles and papers. The lid seals in the odor nicely. It is very sanitary and looks good sitting in my kitchen. My kids love the recycle now because of the sensor opening feature. It is like a new toy for them. I will order the AC adaptor so that no more battery is wasted. I highly recommend this item.
