5.0 out of 5 stars Electric Buzz Zapper
I have 5 of these zappers. We use them in our seed store. They are the best thing we have found for controlling the moths that come from having seed in the store. We owned several other brands and they only lasted a couple of months before the electronics konked out. We have had this brand for a couple of years and they are still zapping!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't even think about buying this product. {:+{
This product was recommended to me by my daughter. There was an invasion of fruit flies in her house, and this brand of bug zapper was what she successfully used---ONE TIME. She only needed it once, and it did the job. Well, I bought five of these iTouchless rechargeable bug zappers, because there is an ongoing mosquito problem where I live that is never going to go away...

This product was recommended to me by my daughter. There was an invasion of fruit flies in her house, and this brand of bug zapper was what she successfully used---ONE TIME. She only needed it once, and it did the job. Well, I bought five of these iTouchless rechargeable bug zappers, because there is an ongoing mosquito problem where I live that is never going to go away. These were bought to be used much more than for just a one-shot use. I bought two for myself (thinking use one, charge one), and the other three were bought as gifts to my neighbors. We're all here suffering horribly from the ever-present mosqitos. I charged all the chargers for 24 hours before I gave the zappers as gifts All four of us had the identical experience: These bug zappers work the first time---for about 10 minutes. Then they don't. They simply don't. So-o-o, you put the chargers in the wall again, and leave them there for six or eight hours--and again, your zappers work for 10 or less minutes---and then they're DEAD. Some of the units wouldn't take a second charge at all. What a shame. We really thought we were buying some relief, and would be able to go outdoors, armed. FORGET IT. Had I been able to get the zappers back from the neighbors within the 30-day return period, I would absolutely have done that. People were away on vacation, etc. I now have all five zappers in my possession---two days after the time expired to return them. Anyone want some free bug zappers that could have been a great product, BUT AREN'T? You don't want them, even though they're free. Right. I'm not surprised. BIG WASTE OF MONEY. Five non-functioning units does not make a co-incidence. In order to write this review, Amazon insists that the person rate the product. I would not willingly have given it even one star, but there was no choice. THIS IS A MINUS 1,000 STARS PRODUCT. (-1,000) Find a different/better brand.

I charged this product once and it worked well. The charge almost lasted 1 month. Tried charging again and it doesn't charge. Called iTouchless and they told me that this product has 30 DAY WARRANTY and there is nothing they can do.

5.0 out of 5 stars This thing is tons of fun for hours, July 1, 2006

I own two of these buzz-zapper brand bug zappers with AA batteries. I also have 2 of the other type that take D batteries. I can tell you that I prefer the buzz-zapper brand for 2 reasons. The first reason is that it snaps very loudly when it gets a bug. This greatly increases the entertainment value. The other reason is that it is nearly impossible to shock yourself since the screens are positioned in a way that you can't accidentally touch it. This is important especially since the zap really can hurt.

If you are looking for something that actually kills bugs, and is fun to play with at the same time, this is the item you want.

3.0 out of 5 stars Find one that takes C or D batteries!, August 5, 2005

These are nice, they make mosquitos POP when you zap them.

However, if you're one of those who likes to have fun when you kill bugs, get one with either C or D batteries. They carry MUCH more power and will kill things like Cockroaches which AA battery-powered swatters will not.

The rechargeable battery attracted me to purchase this item because one of my neighbors have a similar one. This one has many safety feature which prevent you from killing the bug so it's not as efficient. Just get the plain zapper, it shocks'em faster!

I have purchased the Rechargeable Handheld Electric Bus Zapper before for friends, but I had not used it myself. It was something a friend had highly recommended because it definitely works. I purchased it for myself when I recently moved into an area where flies, mosquitoes and other pesty bugs are around. I was amazed as to how well it works. A rechargeable zapper is much better than the battery operated one because chasing flies with this can be tricky and energy consuming. I do suggest to keep it away from young children so they don't play with it or zap just other children with it. I fear if the zapper gets close to furniture or drapes, it can catch it on fire, or something. Some of the flies upon getting zapped, seem to get fried and even ashy. The sound it makes was something I was unaware of although it doesn't always happen. I feel bad because it seems somewhat inhumane to kill bugs that way, but then again, those bugs are invading our indoor space and they get killed with a swatter anyway. The prtective double layers covers on either side of the zapper are now made to prevent the user to get zapped with it when touching it, by mistake. Without it, I was zapped on the finger by mistake, but that was last year's model. Give it a try and see for yourself.

I first saw this device in Maine, where my son used one. His swatter would stun a fly but you still had to kill it. I found my device on line and thought I would try it.
It is great. This one kills them dead. I believe it has more "current" available to do the job. It completely vaporized a mosquito flying in the kitchen. I hit a fly and it fell to the floor; I watched to see if it moved or got up. Nope it was DOA.
I recommend this one as it really does the job.
