Amazon.com Review
This small candle votive from iittala is inspired by the extraordinary glass vases of the late Finnish architect Alvar Aalto. Aalto, whose name means "wave" in Finnish, designed the now iconic undulating glassware in 1936 for a tableware competition in correlation with the following year's Paris Exposition. Larger and smaller versions of the originals comprise an innovative and universally popular design collection.
Measuring 2-1/2 by 4 inches, the votive is available in a choice of many tinted colors as well as clear, to match or complement a larger vase of the same style. An indentation in the bottom keeps a small votive candle (not included) in place. The organic form is mouth-blown in Finland of lead-free crystal, and should be washed only by hand. --Ann Bieri
