Nice travel alarm clock. It's a plastic case, not super small, but small enough, simple to use. Does not always wake up my super-sound sleeping daughter, since it automatically shuts off after a minute (or 30 seconds?). It has two alarm levels, the alarm is a higher frequency that hard of hearing people may not hear, but would generally wake up anyone that wants to get up. I also use it as a back up alarm for when I have to catch a flight, and I don't have to worry about not hearing it, even when I put it 10 feet away from my bed....

It's loud enough to wake up someone who sleeps with earplugs.

On occasion the alarm does not go off. I remember one time in particular. Something jolted me awake but the alarm was not beeping. It went off for a split second at the proper time but did not keep beeping. I remember a few other times in which I woke up late but noticed that everything on the alarm was set correctly. Sometimes it does not go off, or only goes off for a split second.

To have the back-light not flicker, you have to press on the big button on the top really hard and put pressure on just the right spots.

Use it as a back-up alarm.

I bought this clock for one of my hard-to-wake-up family members, and just received it. After putting in batteries and testing it, this is my analysis:

Pros: compact size, attractive design, good size digital numbers, hi and low alarm settings (high is very loud), snooze feature, uses AA batteries.

Cons: a bit hard to set - NOT intuitive - must hold down the time or alarm button while setting time or alarm time, no constant light on the digital number time although dial is lit when the snooze button is pushed.

I personally prefer setting time and alarm on the dial clocks, much easier. I also like having a constant back-light on the time so I can see it in the dark.

All things considered, this is a very nice clock. Good clocks these days are hard to come by. I like this one overall, and am seriously thinking of getting a few more for other family members who need a good "nudge" to get up in the morning.

I have been looking all over for another one of these clocks. I had one, which I bought from a travel catalog, and it was damaged in my suitcase on a flight and it is the only clock I have had that I was sure to hear out of a deep sleep. It still keeps good time but will no longer sound the alarm for some reason. I have a slight hearing loss and the only replacement I found that comes close... I do not always hear. I have been looking all over for another one, as the catalog no longer sells it, and finally found it here. Hurray!

This thing only worked twice for me. Today it sits on my computer desk displaying the time only. If you need to make someone late for work, here ya go :(

This worked for the first 2 months after that it decided to not work at all. Sound is busted. Such a shame it actually worked to wake my husband up. Had to go buy a cheaper one that actually does it's job at our local NEX store. If you get lucky with a good one that last long this does the job of waking you and anyone else up in a home. But if miss out on luck like I did then it will break at 2 months.

I'm hard of hearing and saw this recommended as a travel alarm. It's easy to use and compact. Alarm is loud enough. I haven't used it enough yet to give it 5 stars.

This alarm clock works at 110 decibels, it's sort of like someone blowing their car horn not far away. It wakes you up! A little problem with the display, you have to look closely to see the AM PM.

This is the best small and loud battery alarm clock available, and I've tried most of them. You won't go wrong.

I am a sailor and sometimes have to sleep with ear plugs in, so I needed a loud alarm clock.
On low level, it is not too loud for normal use.
I gave my clock away to a friend and have just bought a replacement.
Good quality construction.
I also like the slightly longer-than-normal snooze time.
