This is a really incredible device. If you've ever tried to make a bootable thumb drive to run Clonezilla, your favorite flavor of Linux, or install Windows, then you know how flaky the process can be, whether due to the thumb drive, the BIOS, or both. This device will bypass all that by mounting your iso file and emulating a CD-ROM device. It works brilliantly.
This is just a hard drive case, so you'll have to supply the 2.5" hard drive. If you have one of those WD drives that can be powered off one USB port, then your iodd will also run on just one USB port with that drive. If you check the manufacturer's website ([...]) you will find that they are still actively developing the firmware and adding features. NTFS support is coming soon. The manufacturer's website also has more current firmware than the seller's website, last time I checked. The first one that was shipped to me had a jog dial that was sticking in the down position, then the plastic part broke right off. The seller exchanged it right away, and the new one had a different color jog dial that works great, so I think they must have changed to a higher quality part. UPDATE: I just want to add this information because I couldn't find it listed as a feature anywhere. There is a limit of 32 files in the _iso folder, however, you can nest folders within the _iso folders, which makes it very handy to organize your iso's using folder names. Also, the NTFS support is out and firmware updates continue to be released.

No more burning CD's of ISO images. No more lugging around a stack of DVDs/CDs for any possibility. No more headaches of broken/missing CD and DVD drives on computers.
This thing just works. Make sure you grab the latest firmware from i-odd.com for either NTFS (version numbers with N appened to it) or FAT/exFat support.

Works perfectly. You can boot from any .iso file on the _ISO folder and it'll work faster that any USB dvd or cd and you avoid those dvds/cds not working because of the scratches.
Super compact. Technician? YOU HAVE TO HAVE IT !!!!
