Got this home and put it through the paces. Great iRiver product on almost every level, and easier to use than Lplayer (which is difficult to work because you have to press on the edges of the case instead of a button that moved up and down, sideways, etc).

BUT...

When you shut it off, the T5 does NOT remember where it was in the track. Which means that if you are in the middle of a 90 minute podast, seminar, or other longer program and you have to pause it and shut the player off, you end up right back at the beginning of the track when you power the player back up.

This is NOT a feature. If you need to stop in the middle of a long track, you need to physically note where in the track (time elapsed) you are at. Then when you go back and power back up again, you have to then fast-forward to that spot (which can take many minutes).

I'd rather pay twice as much for a player that does not lose its place.

I bought this player to recorder spirtual meetings. I never expected a clock and timer too. It plays great and the recording is so easy that my children can do it without my help.

I plan on purchasing more iRiver products in the future.

This is the second Iriver poduct I've owned and can't complain. The controls can be confusing and seem to be the major beef with most people (using a stick vs a button pad) but having owned an IFP before you learn how to navigate your own way and it becomes easier. It's hella tiny, not much bigger than a cigarette lighter so it tucks anywhere. The built in lithium battery lasts 4x longer than alkaline and the OLCD display is a plus. The only real downer is the sound, the earbuds are crap but I plugged in a good set of Sony and it's crystal clear. All in all I don't know of any better for under $30.

This is really good product in terms of its reliability and portability. I however wish to have longer battery life and more memory on it. The display is hard to see on daylight outdoor.

Other than that it is excellent. The sound quality (playing mp3 records), FM receiver, voice recording, and usb compatibility are the best features it has. Voice recording in a loudy env is not so good, but most normal recordings are excellent.

this is a very good product. you will love it. sound quality is nice. microphone sensivity is perfect. with $20 u cann't beat anything else..

First thing i love is that this mp3 player was very easy of navigate,
and simple menu that comes into my mind just like that,
and little stopwatch was great for me (I use it for track in my school)
watch was also very useful for me, and durable with low price.

you can also edit the brightness of the screen, and for my opinion, if you put 100% brightness with it, i don't really have any problem reading it, little radio was also nice thing of iriver instead of like shuffle with no radio or voice recorder/radio recorder or make playlist and play it by what you like whenever your mood changes.

BUT the last thing that really "GETS" me the most is that you can use it like a 'flash drive', (which means you can just plug into any of your computer and put any format stuff in there, such as microsoft word, image, video) doesn't mean you can play it but you can still have it and watch it whenever you connect your T5 to any computer, unlike shuffle, because in shuffle you must have to install the software and only put music file.

Volume control is also VERY FAST and LOUD (when i say fast it means it moves 1-40 really fast unlike slowly moves up which means you gotta put your thumb for really LONG time that may hurt your thumb and i know that's not good and you gotta say "nuff of this"

I think it's great for high school / college students and recommand this little mp3 player called T5 made by iriver, those who are looking for flash drive to put your homeworks, back up memos, power- point files, few mount of videos, pictures, and to play music of course with radio, voice recorder, stop watch, and digital watch.

I had high hopes for this player since the last five years I have had faithfully by my side an iRiver ifp series player. It took a beating, but lasted through it all, and five years was quite long enough for me to get attached to its quality, simplicity and compact size.
So, because of this, I thought I was safe buying this player (which is quite similar to the ifp series) when mine finally stopped working (just wouldn't turn on one day :( ).
Unfortunately, this player isn't even worth the $20 I spent, for one very good reason: the screen is completely unreadable outside, or near bright lights indoors. I was going to use it for running, but because of this, it is almost useless to me.
Also, for aesthetics the buttons were reduced to a single joystick and the hold switch. This does make the player look very sleek, but the trade-off is more complicated menus which also increases the complexity of one handed use (because you have to navigate through a base menu of 10 to 12 items). This is another feature that I almost can't live with because I primarily use it for long runs, and need more simplicity.
This complaint is a bit more finicky but in practice, it is a very real issue. The joy stick is positioned on the same end as the headphone jack. This results in a few problems:
If holding it while running, the headphone connector is pointed up in the air if you want to have your thumb near the joystick for quick song changes.
If holding it horizontally in front of you, the headphone connector greatly impedes the right hand from easily using the joystick--you have to maneuver around it each time.

I could talk about some of the things that I like (built-in USB, looks sleek, small, light-weight) but the cons well outweigh the pros in my case.

This seller is excelent, will I duy again from him? yes yes yes, defenetly yes, I order product two days ago, today is july 9 and I got the mp3 in my hands. About the product, it is good enough for me since I just used it for short runs, I'm very practical so all the above fixtures dosen,t bother me. love the sound it is so digital and clean.
I got one for my six years old douther and she loved it.
