A great story for all ages,

This review is from: The iron giant: A story in five nights (Hardcover)
I am working hard to find books for a child who reads way above his grade level. In most cases, he can manage the books quite well for length and plot, but the issues in the books are not appropriate for his age.The Iron Giant (I have the one with illustrations by Dirk Zimmer) meets this need -- it's a story to read and re-read, with plenty of action and conflict resolution, but it's not too scary and definitely not sexy. I wish it were longer, or that this was one of a series. We need more kids' books like this.

This review is from: The Iron Giant (Turtleback School & Library Binding Edition) (School & Library Binding)
I was surprised to find that this book came with the movie characters on the cover, as opposed to what is pictured on the site. Nonetheless, it does have the original story- not the movie plot. It is an odd story, to say the least, and certainly not what we expected; but my son (7) thought it was alright.
