A Welcome Rediscovery, September 29, 2011
This is a FANTASTIC album. My sister and I grew up listening to Sezen Aksu tapes in the car as kids and the first, second, and last tracks on this album were huge favorites of ours. Finally I've managed to rediscover this music as an adult and my esteem for Aksu has increase ten-fold. The range and the nuance which her voice is capable of is incredible. Her music is significant for its loyalty to the traditional Turkish aural aesthetic and its incorporation of authentic Turkish instruments. Wow!! So happy to have finally found this again!!
