Equipped with a vertical-loading CD player that's compatible with CD and CD-R discs, a reliable AM/FM receiver, and a fog-free mirror, the device is both functional and highly entertaining, making it great for shaving, showering, or doing you morning prep work. Listeners who want to sing along to a custom soundtrack will appreciate the CD player's track programming and repeat play (one or all tracks) functions, which let you rearrange track order or listen to the same song over and over. Meanwhile, the digital AM/FM tuner picks up everything from morning news shows to sports broadcasts to music programming. The radio even includes a clock so you know how long you have before the carpool leaves, along with a built-in alarm that wakes to either the CD or radio.

Playback stems from the pair of stereo speakers (one above and one below the mirror) or the 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack, which allows for private listening. And though you can place the JX-M85 on the counter, its premier location is hanging from a showerhead. Additional features include an easy-to-read LCD display and an X-BBS control button that pumps up the bass. The CD player/radio runs on either batteries (not included) or via a DC adapter (also not included) while measuring 6 by 10.88 by 2.88 inches (W x H x D). The shower CD player looks cool on the net with a reasonable price, but when I actually got the product, I saw how cheap quality it looked. The station and volume dials are VERY inaccurate and the volume is way too low and distorted. The speakers are muffled, and they sound terrible. Think you can live with that? Well think again... Unfortunately, the CD player was not working. I assure you, I have done nothing damaging to it, as soon as I opened the box, I placed a CD in and it was simply not working. That wasn't the end of it... this isn't a splash proof radio; it broke down two days after I got it because of having water in the battery compartment and display monitor.

Not gonna replace your Bose... OK pros-good battery life (only uses 4c not 6), sounds rreallly loud through head phones-better than my cd player, won't kill you if it falls in the tub.

Cons-latching problems, mirror worthless, and yeah, I wished it sounded like a stereo. If not for the latch, I would have given it a 4 in its genre.

Nice looking unit with good CD play and battery life. Radio Tuner and reception is poor. Lack of radio presets makes unit not competitive with newer models.
