`I Just Want My Daughter Back' is indeed a highly personal account of emotions when Bipolar 1 enters your otherwise `normal' life. The authors' daughter, Steph is a wonderful, caring and intelligent teenager providing love and strength to the family.

All is soon about to change. The onset of mental illness arrives taking Steph and her mom on a harrowing journey in search of information to treat this highly dangerous condition. The tale is written with undeviating love and compassion that a parent has for their child when faced with dire circumstances.

Highly recommended for all who have been touched by this insidious condition--Bipolar 1.

This is truly a book I could not put down. It is a book that shows the trials, struggles and heart felt emotions a Mother and her daughter go thru dealing with an illness. It shows what love and determination can overcome. Very inspiring to anyone dealing with an illness.I just want my Daughter back: Coming to terms with Bipolar 1

I couldn't put this book down! It's a heart-wrenching story but one that gives hope through the many examples of how the author persevered and never gave up trying to hold her family together. If there is Bipolar 1 disorder in your family, you have to get this book!

My Son was recently diagnosed with Bipolar 1, and I have been through many, many books, and other informational sources regarding this illness, but none helped me more than this book by B.C. Levinson. It is truly an amazing and inspirational accounting of a Mother's love, determination, and devotion to her Daughter when she learns that she has been diagnosed with Bipolar 1. It is a story of courage and determination that gave me the hope and strength I needed to confront this illness with my Son. For anyone or any Family effected by this disease it is a must read!! For that matter, it really is a story of devotion and love that would be beneficial for anyone to read. God Bless this Author for sharing her and her Daughter's story. It gave me strength when I needed most.

I would say this book is pretty good. I belong to a book club and "pretty good" is what all 20 of us gave it. It is interesting in parts, but it is not gripping.
