Not exactly. This is not a sequel to or related to the Killer 7 world in a any way, but it does continue Sudas tradition of "assassin protagonist" games. Killer 7 was godly, but the rest of his work has been hit or miss for me, so I'll watch this closely to see if it merits a purchase.

Chris D. says:
killer7 had a short story related to it, called killer7: Killer Is Dead written by a one Suda51.

There's a good basis that he is reusing this story now, replacing the old protagonist with this one. The imagery style is the same, the suit is the same, and the uh..seducing is the same.

It's a spiritual sequel to killer7, but apparently that's the end of their connection.

So I can play this without playing Killer 7 at first and understand the story?

Since it's a Suda51 production, I'm gonna say you can play this game after having indeed played Killer7 and still not fully understand it, haha. But, yeah, it shares no canonical ties with Killer7 so you'll be alright. However, I do recommend you play it at some point!

I'm concerned. X-Seed isn't exactly known for great QC - they pretty much just publish whatever is handed to them. I remember way back when their Wild Arms titles (specifically Alter Code: F and Wild Arms 4) were just glitchy monstrosities

XSeed is the publisher... But Grasshopper Manufacture is the developer. :) Never had problems with Grasshopper games so I don't think you have to worry about annoying glitches at all.

Really looking forward to Killer is Dead.~

This may be a bit off topic, but if I ordered the game really close to release, is there a chance that I won't get the preorder bonus?

It would be fantastic if Killer 7 were made available as a DLC for this game.
