It has a Sony Lithium Ion "N" type battery. Model #NP-BN.

It's an internal lithium ion battery that you charge via a wall charger directly to the camera. It lasts a good long while if fully charged.

it's a sony "n' type battery, good luck.
i had no issues with my camera, it takes photos under water in the pool.
