This book is a must have for kitten lovers of all ages. The quality of the photos and the "AWWW" factor are both high. My seven-year-old niece and I read through it together with much delight.

Kittenwar, by Fraser Lewry (a.k.a Kittenmaster) and Tom Ryan, is a fun-for-all kind of book --the kind you place on your coffee table, so all your friends can say "Awwwww, this is a great book --- wherever did you get it?" And then the person sitting next to them gets caught up in it, and so forth and so on.

First, Kittenwar is hardcover, compact and eye-pleasing. Second, you must read The Kittenwar Story by Fraser Lewry just to chuckle over his narrative, original writing style, and pop culture wit.

Third, you won't be able to put it down, from the actual kittenwar pages, to the battle results, to the fun categories of kittens in the last section of the book. There's so much between these covers!

Fourth, buy it for yourself, your child, your neighbor, your cousin. Doesn't matter --- anyone and everyone will get a kick out of this book. Five stars, Mr. Lewry and Mr. Ryan. Bravo!

I'm an avid fan and frequent poster on The Daily Kitten, so when Fraser told us about this book, I had to have it. Just got it two days ago. What a great book! And what a clever way to read it-love the instruction page!!! Never had anyone tell me how to read a book before. I have enjoyed it so much, I'll tell everyone I know about it , share it with friends, and read it over and over. Absolutely precious pics.

This book is hilarious! It's a must for any cat lover. Great photos, great cat names, and some interesting cat trivia that I was not familiar with. Buy copies for all of your friends!!!

If kittenwar.com is the pinnacle of the Age of the Internet , then "Kittenwar: may the cutest kitten win" is the pinnacle of the western literary cannon. Along with the likes of "Brothers Karamazov" and "Ulysses," this should be required reading for all serious students of literature in higher academia.

It would be hard to fail with a book comparing cute kittens, and this one is presented in a unique format in a "cute-off" between kitties. This book would even appeal to non-cat lovers.

I have ranted and raved here a number of times recently about the blog-to-book craze and how the books that come out of it are mediocre at best. But, as with all rules, there are a handful of exceptions; you just have to root them out. <em>Kittenwar: May the Cutest Kitten Win!</em> breaks some established blog-to-book rules, and because of that, what we get is a product that, if not geared for repetition, is at least more interesting than the bulk of the lot.

How'd they do it? Simple: it's not <em>just</em> blog content, in the way that so many of these books are. They take the blog content and play with it a little, adding a silly game, some psychological profiling (that's clearly of the "pulled out of our posteriors" bent, in case anyone was wondering), and some random kitten-related facts to compensate for the major blog-to-book problems (lack of interaction and possible differences in taste between blog owner/book editor/reader). It may not be something you want for your permanent collection (and besides, there's a website for that), but you should definitely head down to your local library and spend a couple of hours basking in the cuteness of baby animals. ****

This book is so cute, it's almost sickening. You'll find yourself struck with frustration as you read through it, trying to decide which kitten is cuter. The cover is just a small taste of what you're in for. This is definitely a book for people who love cats and adorable kittens.
While the title says "may the cutest kitten win!". aren't they all really winners?
This is a fun/silly book with no educational value what-so-ever. However, if you love cats/kittens and want to take a real challenge, get this book and try to decide which kitten is cuter. It's more difficult than you'd think ;)

The delightful and wildly popular website [...] transitions to the print medium in this sweet and lovely collection of photographs. Site founder Fraser Lewy has chosen some of his favorite pairs of kitten combatants and presented them within the pages of a compact, full-color book, including information about which kitten of each pair is voted "the cutest" by site visitors, something about why they might have attained that distinction, a list of favorite kitten names, and even sidebars listing some courageous kittens of note. Naturally the selection is far less comprehensive than on the site, but anyone who delights in kittens (and don't we all?) will love it just the same.
