I was trying to make a play on the old movie with Dolly Parton & Burt Reynolds....The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.

I knew who Sally Stanford was and was told there was a book she had written. This book is a wonderful read. "Sally" tells you how she got to be in the "madam" business starting with her childhood. It's an easy read and at times both funny & poignant.

I would recommend Lady of the House to anyone who is interested in both Sally herself and some San Francisco history.
