5.0 out of 5 stars Irresistable for techno-feminist Twinkees fans with a penchant for pop psychology and Camus, April 24, 2007
This review is from: The Last Man Is Out (Paperback)
Anyone who grew up a computer nerd, a Minnesnota Twinkees fan, a post-modernist feminist, with a penchant for pop psychology (and who doesn't fit those critera!?) will want to search rare and used book stores for this charming novel. You'll see why the Minneapolis Trib called it "engaging." Taken as a metaphor for the objectification of women in sports, as a commentary on the blurred lines between humans and technology, or as a post-Kukoo's Next critique of sanity and insanity... or just as a fun read on the airplane, this book is irresistable.

As for the societal debate over the book's subtext - gay rights, and homosexuality in sports -- it rings more relevant today than when the book was published. Question: Will the publisher have the guts to reissue the book? And, are the rumors true that Uma is signed to play Judy?

This review is from: The last man is out (Hardcover)
An entertaining baseball story, even for those of us who don't like baseball. Little League with a 60's sensibility
