About the Author

Well known throughout the world of sailing as a teacher and a top competitor, Peter Isler has won the America's Cup twice, serving as Navigator aboard STARS & STRIPES in 1987 and 1988. In 1992 he was commentator for ESPN's America's Cup coverage. He has taught sailing to people of all ages and experiences, including the US Olympic team.

More About the Author

Two time America's Cup winner Peter Isler has been involved in every Cup since winning it as navigator aboard Dennis Conner's "Stars & Stripes" in Australia in 1987. In the 2007 Cup he sailed in his fifth Cup campaign serving as navigator for the BMW Oracle Racing Team. He took a break from sailing and served as analyst for ESPN's Emmy Award winning coverage of the America's Cup in '92 & '95. He's also covered the Cup for Outdoor Life Network (2002-3) and VERSUS (2007). A former Collegiate Sailor of the Year at Yale University, Isler resides in Southern California. He is a popular motivational speaker and author. His most recent title was published by Wiley in the Spring of 2011 - "Peter Isler's Little Blue Book of Sailing Secrets". He co-authored the best-selling book, Sailing for Dummies (Wiley) and wrote an acclaimed business book, At the Helm: Business Lessons for Navigating Rough Waters (Doubleday) with Peter Economy. He is president of Isler Sailing International, Inc. I got the book from the library and now I'm going to order it. It's very clearly written with good illustrations and diagrams. The author tends to explain things twice which makes it easier to understand the concept.

Clearly written and to the point.

To Author: you should make an instructional video also

I use this book as a handout to my students that range in age from 18 to 70 years old. I like it and they like like it. Easy to understand. Clearly written and well illustrated.
