5.0 out of 5 stars Fundamental to understanding Liberty, February 24, 2007
This review is from: La ley / the Law (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
Bastiat wrote as a contemporary of Karl Marx, and expressed the opposite point of view, that property, privately held and developed, is the foundation of liberty. The State (organized force) is the greatest enemy of liberty, at all times and in all places. No person can claim to be educated in political science, government or the literature of Freedom who has not read Bastiat, whether in French, English or Spanish. I would make this mandatory reading for all high school graduates, except that such a policy would hardly be consistent with the principles of liberty.
