I'm interested too--wonder where this item is shipped from? The WA state warehouse or ?? I note that as of today, Amazon states "In stock on August 18, 2008". My order stated "will ship on August 14th". Makes me wonder if Amazon actually has them in their warehouse, or is waiting on a fresh shipment from Sony. In any case, if you have not used the "Amazon Prime" free trial, you might want to consider it--you will receive free 2-day shipping for a month. The free trial would apply to any item not shipped yet, and you would receive your PS3 much faster. Just remember to cancel by the end of the 30-day trial period, and you will not be charged the $79 fee.
I actually ordered another game at the same time, but they shipped it way earlier. But since PS3 is a lot bigger I guess that makes sense? o_O I wish I still have the Amazon Prime free trial...I was stupid enough that I applied it during a period of time that I never used amazon =[ and yeah I just saw amazon was out of stock as well, even the used price went up lol. SO glad I picked this up earlier...
Anyway my order finally updated! Now it said shipping soon (still August 12 tho), hopefully they ship on Monday instead =p
Wow! I see that too. Amazon is no longer taking orders for the PS3 MGS4 bundle. I'm considering upgrading to Amazon Prime, just for the ability to move to the head of the pack (I think). It is just difficult to pay the Amazon Prime $79 fee, when I always find a way to qualify for free shipping anyway. If the the item is in Amazons' WA warehouse, I usually receive it within 2-3 days anyway.
When I ordered mine in late July, it took five days for it to get set for shipping, but as soon as it left Amazon, it arrived two days later. Make sure to either ship it to work, or know where your local fed ex or ups pickup location is and have it sent there, as the shipment will require a signature.
Phoenix? Hmmm most of the stuff I ordered came from WA...depends on address I guess and wow people are getting crazy, it's not even in stock on Aug 19th anymore, all trying to get one b4 it went out of stock?
Hopefully you're right on the shipping time. It has been a week already, and amazon STILL haven't ship it yet! The estimate date is today, and there's only 1.5 hours left...seriously amazon is really taking its time to ship my stuff in the last minute =[
Well...when I ordered (08/08/08) my PS3MGS, Amazon indicated that it would be shipped on August 14th. It actually shipped yesterday, and arrived today! Don't know why I received overnight shipping, but I'm not complaining. Note that a signature is required for delivery.
Pak Wu says: araghhh lucky bastard....congrats!!! So you actually chose free shipping but amazon gave you overnight shipping? ................................................ Yes--I just chose the free "super-saver" shipping.
Amazon has a warehouse within a few hours of my location. One of the reasons I don't have a Amazon Prime membership (canceled after the 30 day trial period) is that most items I've ordered from Amazon arrive in a few days anyway.
I have to give a big "Thank-You" to UPS. UPS attempted delivery, but kept the package as a signature was required to receive it.
I figured this was going to happen, so I called UPS mid-afternoon and learned of the delivery attempt. I requested that they hold the package at their terminal, and I would pick it up on my way home.
As I was leaving work at 5pm, the UPS driver called me from his truck. He stated that he was running WAY late, and that the package would not be back at the terminal for several hours.
He stated that he was still in my hometown, and would be for another hour. He suggested I call him on his cell phone when I got home, and he would redeliver the package! Talk about great service.
BTW, Newegg.com has the Dualshock 3 controller for $45 & free shipping today, in case you want a second controller.
Amazon is, once again, not taking orders for the PS3 MGS bundle. And the resellers immediately raised their price to $699!!
Thanks for all the info! I am glad your PS3 arrived. My PS3 MGS4 bundle is suppose to shipped using free super savings too, so I will defiantly look out for UPS soon. Currently I am on edge waiting for my in-stock date (August 18th). I broke down and ordered the PS3 bundle on August 10th. Every day it seems the PS3 MGS4 bundle is out of stock or will come in stock at a later date. Like right now, Amazon has now gone back to selling more PS3 MGS4 bundles stating they are in stock (guess the resellers' price will go down again). I just wish my PS3 was sent out already because these price changes and the rotating in-stock/out of stock dates are making me so nervous (I really don't want the new 80gb system coming out). But now at least I know you got yours, so Amazon is still shipping them out.
Same here. I ordered my PS3 Bundle on August 12. It's a relief I'm not the only one with this "problem" since my order has not yet been shipped as well. I'm getting nervous and anxious. I hope they won't go "out of stock" on me.
Like you said, Amazon is taking orders again. I just checked, and both Costco.com and Circuit City indicate that the MSG bundle is in stock. Costco includes a second controller and a HDMI cable in their MSG bundle; $570 + shipping.
I picked up the Pelican PS3 controller charger at Best-By. Nice, well made charger, and looks like it was made by Sony.
InDebt4Ever: Thanks again for the information. I prefer to stay with Amazon, but I will defiantly keep an eye out for Circuit City in case anything goes wrong with my order (I already ordered with Amazon, and I won't receive the PS3 bundle any faster from Circuit City without paying for a speedier delivery). If you run across any other places to get cheap accessories let me know.
Apprentice: I called Amazon today. They said the changing in-stock dates for the PS3MGS4 bundle was because they kept receiving different dates when they should receive the bundles (not several small shipments like I thought might be the case). Since Amazon currently states the PS3 bundles are in stock, it looks like Amazon received the shipment earlier than they originally expected (when I ordered Amazon stated the bundles would be in-stock August 18th). Apparently my playstation 3 is in stock just waiting to be shipped. Again Good News: Amazon has the PS3 MGS4! I was told it would make no difference if I cancelled my old order and placed a new order for the PS3 bundle with it saying In-stock now, so of course I left everything as is. I hope this means we might see the bundles shipped out sooner than originally told. Either way I am relieved to hear Amazon at least has the bundles and I am not waiting for a specific shipment (ie in-stock August 18th) that may never arrive.
Consider upgrading to Amazon Prime--you'll get 2 day shipping, and can cancel the membership within the 30 day window. You'll receive your PS-3 MSG quicker, and at no extra cost as long as you remember to cancel your membership within 30 days.
I had anticipated ordering this bundle from Amazon on Friday the 15th, but after reading all these posts and seeing Amazon go back and forth between having it in stock and not having it (seemingly on an hourly basis), I decided it wasn't worth all the hassle, so I just went to Toys R Us and bought it on my lunch Friday. Didn't really want to pay sales tax, but I decided the $38 in tax was worth being able to bring it right home and hook it up instead of placing the order and waiting... and waiting... and waiting... I'll stick to Amazon for my games and Blu-Ray discs.
That is insane! The UPS driver... called you... from his... truck? If that's not epic I don't know what is. .................................................................. I was (happily) surprised, too! I do a lot of Amazon purchases, so the UPS driver and I have gotten to know each other. That said, I was still shocked when he called and asked if I wanted him to redeliver the package. I'm thinking that Fed-Ex may be putting some pressure on UPS...
S. Gillespie: Amazon loves you! Do you mind telling me what shipping speed you selected?
My PS3 bundle has not been shipped yet. Amazon supposedly packaged mine up on Saturday or Monday (it would not let me change my order because it was getting ready for shipping). All I can think of is either Amazon was monitoring Tropical Storm Fay and holding off shipping to anyone in Florida or the shipping speed selection I chose. Of course there could just be something wrong with my order, but I think they would have told me when I called Amazon.
InDebt4ever: I should have listened to you and signed up for free Amazon Prime trial (I wanted to wait and use it in November for the day after Thanksgiving sales).
Can anyone in Florida tell me if Amazon has recently shipped to them since the whole Tropical Storm Fay threat?
