5.0 out of 5 stars Handy little wallet

several people recommended this to me - I wanted a small, thin wallet for just the basics. I got this last week and have been trying hard to make it work for me. It does what it says it does but I just don't think it's practical for me. I now have it as a back up for my business cards and I'm hoping I can make friends with it in the next few weeks or one of my friends will be getting a jimi wallet. The problem for me is that the lid doesn't really snap on or off easily - it takes a bit of an effort to align the top so it snaps closed again, then when it's open and you try to get at the credit cards, the plastic holder snaps off too easily. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but several times when I've been standing in line trying to get into my wallet, I end up with several pieces of the wallet in my hands along with my change and that's just not practical IMO.

I got the red one and the color is really nice - but the cover gets scratched really easy.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay., December 3, 2009
In 22 days I will have had my jimi for one year. I can tell you that it is waterproof. If you were going to a water park I would recommend taking this wallet with you. Just make sure it completely locked in the closed position. The con to this wallet is the cash space. It can fit 3-4 bills at best. Make sure you spend an entire 20 because the change won't fit. Fortuneatly almost everything takes plastic of which this wallet holds 4 cards comfortably. The jimi is not meant for everyday use. After 6 months of traveling in my back pocket, it has some issues staying closed. I should have expected that being that it is made of plastic. However, I'm the type of person that will use something until the very end so I still have it in my back pocket.

My son bought me a Jimi wallet for my birthday a couple of years ago. I liked it so much, I bought another one on Amazon. If you have situations were you don't want to carry a normal wallet with all of the stuff inside of it, this is the perfect option. I use the wallet when I go hiking/backpacking and when we go on trips. The wallet is large enough to hold a couple of credit cards and/or a driver license (or other identification) and some money (dollar bills). Since the wallet is plastic, when I go hiking/backpacking I don't have to worry about things getting moist or wet. When we go on trips, primarily overseas, were pickpockets may be a concern, I take my Jimi wallet. It is small and slim enough so that I keep it in my front pants pocket, and I don't have to worry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Jimi Sports wallet, September 2, 2008

This is such a cool product - colour's great, really eyecatching. When I use it as a wallet, everyone asks "where can I get one of those". Highly recommended if you're the kind of person who likes to grab people's attention

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a post-cash society-if you're into that., January 5, 2012

(REAL NAME)
I bought this wallet in 01/08 in the Aqua color and at year 4 it is still in good shape. The hinges have held up fine. The wallet suffered a small crack in the little tab that keeps it closed, but it hasn't gotten any worse over time or made the wallet harder to close, and the wallet does not pop open.

It does work best if you don't carry a lot of cash. I found that if you reverse the inserts from their original positions (i.e. switch the credit card holder insert with the money clip insert) it is more convenient to access cards without having to bend the "cap" back too much.

In the credit card side I carry: Driver's License and 3 credit cards.
In the money clip side I carry: 3 insurance cards, bus pass, and one large denomination bill as safety cash.

I kind of would like the wallet to break so I can justify buying a new one in a different color. That's why I was browsing this page today. But no such luck.

1.0 out of 5 stars awful stuff, December 26, 2011
Just received the black wallet, and completely unsatisfied with the purchase. The quality of plastic is very low - it looks and feels like very cheap piece of production and there are scratches after only a couple of minutes of wearing the wallet.

2.0 out of 5 stars cool idea, but slows you down, December 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I carried this wallet for a week or so before giving up on it. I like that it's solid and small in my pocket, but I couldn't fit as much as I needed to in it. Getting my debit card in and out was much slower than with my usual billfold. If you start out the day with a couple 20's you're fine until you start gathering smaller bills - they won't fit. My business cards don't quite fit and got dinged up. The hinge is just a weak, thin strip of plastic. The plastic looks and feels cheap.

5.0 out of 5 stars First one lasted 4 years, November 18, 2011

When I purchased my first Jimi wallet I wasn't sure at all if it was going to last. My primary concern was the plastic hinges and if they'd simply break off. But now, four years later after daily use it's time for me to order a new one. The first one is still in one piece, but the plastic hinge has started to rip. It still works perfectly, but I'd rather get a new one before it does come apart in my pocket.

By far the best feature of the wallet is the fact that it stops your cards from bending. I've not had a single card split in the 4 years since I purchased the Jimi.

I've had leather wallets that cost far more last much less than four years. For the money, the Jimi is excellent value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple, Yet Practical, June 6, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
It's a little thicker than I had thought it would be, but I probably should've realized that considering it holds so much. Overall, I have no complaints about the Jimi. It holds all my cards securely and it's easy to open when I need to access them.
