Such an amazing voice, April 27, 2011

The voice that this woman has is astounding. It's strong and loud when she wants it to be and fragile and soft whenever she needs it to be.
This CD is definitely one of those CDs I go to when I can't figure out what to listen to and yet, I've never been bored by it. There's not any songs worth skipping here. Each song has it's own intricate backstory that you have to listen to a few times to get all the pieces.
This CD definitely has a different vibe than her later CDs such as Live From the Penthouse or Songs for a Sinking Ship. In fact, The One That Got Away is on this album as well as Songs for a Sinking Ship. Whereas on Songs it has a retro sound to it, on LoveLetterBombs, it has a slower pop tempo to it. It's almost as if you can feel everything she's feeling on LoveLetterBombs versus Songs for a Sinking Ship. All in all, it's as though you gain more insight into the artist on LoveLetterBombs vs Songs for a Sinking Ship (I still love Songs though!).
