mCover® hard shell case for the B&N Nook with screen protector built-in,
By Melanie VonBraunsberg (ISLAND PARK, NY, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Clear mCover® Hard Shell Case for Barnes & Noble 6-inch Nook eBook reader, built-in hard Screen Protector and Retractable Stand included (Electronics)
Here is a video showing how to install the mCover® hard case for B&N Nook eBook reader. The built-in screen protector is really a good feature I like as I never need to worry about that my Nook's screen could get scratched or damaged.

Great concept, but failed in the design,

I bought this cover because the stick-on screen protectors all had terrible ratings, and the binders aren't going to protect the screen while reading. It should have been an excellent solution, but there are two major problems.
One, it's a fraction of an inch too small, meaning that not all the tabs can snap into place; no matter how you do it, two or more always have to be left unsnapped. Even if you could force them into place, you'd probably crack the edge of the Nook. And the only way to get it back off, even with it not fastening all the way around, is to insert a flat tool and PRY it off one tab at a time. It would probably crack at some point if you kept doing that. Two, there's a hard plastic bar right across the separator between touchscreen and reading screen. The 'n' key that lets you navigate the device is therefore inaccessible when this cover is on. If you can't access that 'n' button, you have to manually back up to the main screen one screen at a time, EVERY time. With a skin, at least you could cut it so the 'n' is accessible, but with hard plastic you're out of luck. The retractable stand is theoretically a good idea, but with the amount of force it takes to press the page-turn buttons, you'd probably end up knocking it over anyway. It's pretty flimsy and doesn't have anything on the bottom, like rubber, to provide traction. In short, what should have been the perfect solution for Nook protection failed due to design flaws.

Nook cover: worth the price,

I bought my Nook in April and by June I realized I needed to protect the screen and case from smudges, dust and fingerprints. If you read while you eat, you have to protect those page-changing buttons! This clear plastic cover keeps the edges and screen of the Nook protected while allowing easy access to the needed buttons. The case is about as heavy as the Nook itself, so you are increasing the weight considerably, but the easle/stand is definitely worth the added weight. Reading on a table or desk is MUCH easier with the Nook held firmly at an angle. So far, the cover works better than I expected: my Nook is heavier, but the screen is clean, the case is protected and I can read on various surfaces, more comfortably. It was also simple to install and seems quite sturdy. Worth the price if you drag your Nook around the house or take it on the road.
