5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, a handsfree speakerphone that performs as promised
I recently purchased an MV900 for use with my Treo 650 after reading about it in the Wall Street Journal. Since the 650 was released, I have tried an incredible array of Bluetooth buds and hands free kits. All of suffered from the same issues - annoying echoes and poor sound quality. I was reading about this product which seems pretty nice but am put off by the previous 4 reviews.. they don't seem to be genuine. Here's why:

-Each reviewer has ONLY reviewed this product, no others.
-The reviews were written in January and February, within days of each other.

I recently purchased an MV900 for use with my Treo 650 after reading about it in the Wall Street Journal. Since the 650 was released, I have tried an incredible array of Bluetooth buds and hands free kits. All of suffered from the same issues - annoying echoes and poor sound quality. Almost everyone on the other side of the call complained and said that I sounded like I was calling from a tin can. For awhile, I even went back to a "wired" solution with the Shure high performance boom mic.

The MV900 is the first device that I've used where people have said that it sounded as if I were calling from the office.

I drive a stick shift, so voice command, voice dialing, and audible caller ID are huge conveniences. I take the MV900 with me everywhere I go. It's small and it clips right to the visor. I still use a Jabra BT headset, but I find myself leaning towards the MV900 most of the time because it sounds better and I prefer not to stick a plastic bud inside my ear.

I was reading about this product which seems pretty nice but am put off by the previous 4 reviews.. they don't seem to be genuine. Here's why:

-Each reviewer has ONLY reviewed this product, no others.
-The reviews were written in January and February, within days of each other.
-They are written in the same proper English and sound more like product marketing than a real person's review.
-Even Sally, who added a customer 'WIKI' and attached pictures found at the website seems to be promoting this as if she works for Mvox.
-Isn't it strange they all seem to reside in CA?

So are these reviews for real? To me it seems like someone planted these, which is enough to turn me off even if it is a good product.

4.0 out of 5 stars OK, Price a Little Steep for Performance You Get, May 30, 2006

I own the Mvox 900. It works ok for me. Connecting via bluetooth is an excellent feature, no cord tangles like with a head set. The best a part of the Mvox is that it free hands up when I'm driving, making me better and safer driver.

I hear the in coming caller great however callers typically can't hear unless I'm yelling. Also, on in coming calls there seems to be a delay when answering. Not a big deal but sometimes you have to say hello twice to make sure the person knows you're there.

5.0 out of 5 stars MVOX Complete Hands-Free Speakerphone Solution, February 6, 2006
This review is from: mVox Hands-Free Anywhere Speakerphone - MV900 (Electronics)
I bought a MVOX MV900 hands-free speakerphone for my Palm Treo 650 after a friend turned me on to it. I ordered it through Palm at http://store.palm.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2160279.

She's into mobile gadgets and found the MV900 is what she's been in search of, so she had to share it with me. I was surprised by the clarity of the audio - there's no echo, static, or background noise, unlike my previous headset. My favorite features are the clarity, voice dialing and voice caller ID.

As a district sales manager, I'm on the road 75 percent of the time and the MV900 has allowed me to turn my Palm Treo 650 into a portable speakerphone and take my office on the road without interference.

I highly recommend buying a MV900 as it has increased my productivity and enhanced my relationships. It is the perfect partner for the 650.

5.0 out of 5 stars Road Warrior Gear, January 12, 2006

I got this thing three months ago, my ear was tired of a bud and looking like I was the borg.

I really like the Voice caller ID, the calls coming in are announced so I can decide if I want to take the call without having to look at my phone. Makes it a lot safer. Also the fact that it can store all my passwords and extensions for voicemail for my phone and office, I don't use the one for home.

Took me a day to get used to just speaking to the unit in a normal voice, I'm so used to having to speak like a computer to my other VR stuff. I'll say this it's clear and loud. I'm glad I got one, but then I was required to get one for my wife a week later. She requested it! LOL

2.0 out of 5 stars Can You Hear Me Now? Not!!, July 7, 2006
This review is from: mVox Hands-Free Anywhere Speakerphone - MV900 (Electronics)
This device is a very nice size and I can hear every body that I call very clearly but everyone tells me that I sound like I am talking into a coffee can, if I am at home or traveling in my car.

I would like to return this for a refund.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Palm Treo 650, January 11, 2006
This review is from: mVox Hands-Free Anywhere Speakerphone - MV900 (Electronics)
Perfect for Palm Treo 650

I got this USB and Bluetooth speakerphone thru Amazon and love it!

Treo has been a great smartphone for me, but it suffers from very poor speaker and speakerphone volume. I need to use my speakerphone for conference calls and I just cannot use the Treo for this.

The MVox MV900 USB and Bluetooth Speakerphone turns my Treo into a high-quality portable speakerphone. The MV900 offers super audio quality because of its advanced DSP voice processing technology. No echo, no background noise, even on freeways while I am driving. I move around all the time, so this is perfect for me.

In fact, Palm has endorsed this product as officially Treo 650 Compatible. Read more here: http://store.palm.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2160279

Highly recommend for all mobile users who are looking for business-grade conference call gear to go with your smart phones.

5.0 out of 5 stars By far best Bluetooth device around!, July 19, 2006
This review is from: mVox Hands-Free Anywhere Speakerphone - MV900 (Electronics)
First, let me say that I have tried virtually every Bluetooth product. I love Bluetooth technology but virtually ever device I have tried have major flaws that get in the way of its functionality. The majority of the flaws deal with audio quality on both ends of the line, ease of use, and hands free capabilities. I am constantly looking for the most cutting edge devices out there. A good friend of mine recently purchased the Mvox's MV900 and is constantly raving how great the device is. Considering I have had so many bad experiences with Bluetooth devices, I decided to give it a look and do some research. During my research I noticed that the MV 900 received "Planet PDA's" Product of the Year at Mvox.com . Now receiving an award of this caliber definitely caught my attention. I also noticed that the MV 900 is extremely functional and Mvox has a great reputation in the tech industry and in the consumer market. Following my research and my friend's recommendation, I decided to purchase the MV900. I had no problem paying 129.99 for the device as it costs around or in many cases less then other high end Bluetooth devices.

First thing I noticed was how small and sleek the product was. It is a very light weight product and is very fashionable so it does not look out of place while being used in my BMW. I began to make some phone calls and was dumbfounded by the audio quality. Both ends of the line could clearly hear the conversation as if a hand held device was being used. I then decided to use my MV900 in some difficult environments. Because my BMW is a convertible, I decided to drop down the top in addition to having the stereo on. I made a few phone calls and the quality was incredible! I was familiar with MV900's noise suppression technology, but I never thought it would work this well. Even in the most difficult environments to have a phone conversation, I always had crisp and clear audio quality.

The most unique feature of the MV900 is its hands free capabilities. This is very useful because it is a `true handsfree communicator'. You can place calls with a touch of a button. You can dial a phone number or program phone numbers in the MV900 with your voice. It is also important to note that this product can be used with VoIP services such as Skype and AIM. I have been extremely happy with this product and I highly recommend it to anyone, whether your tech savvy or not, as it is very user friendly and helps you drive safely while having a phone conversation.
