Not for the novice,
This review is from: Macware Email Campaign (CD-ROM)
If you need this item now, be warned that it took nearly 30 days to receive it. The program sounded like a great idea since I had tried to create my own HTML mass email list without success. Once I installed the program, I thought I would have completed my first email campaign within the hour; including the transfer and organizing of my email list files. I realized immediately that the program requires that you have a URL to link images used by the templates provided. I uploaded the files to my site and went back into the program to begin the task of editing the html, text, entering my mailing list, and providing mail server information. The program is tedious and expects that you know enough about html to adjust the templates or design originals. After spending WAY too much time with this $39 product, it still failed to transfer the template image through the test email. I contacted support 5 days ago and still have no response. As the saying goes; "you get what you pay for".

Worst thing, its not over when you purchase this stuff. They want you to upgrade/update the program and this costs like 60 dolars more.If you sell it why dont you sell the latest version and you ask money for upgrade? I used the program and it doesnt differentiate spam mails. Dont buy it.

Good product although not Mac-like,

I see that others reported problems with Email Campaign but I must say that I haven't had any problems. Then again, I do have a casual knowledge of HTML, which really helps with this product. I'm not an HTML guru, but do know enough about HTML to get by in most situations. With my limited HTML knowledge, Email Campaign works well.My suggestion: if you want to send HTML email messages and you don't know what you are doing, you might want to avoid Email Campaign. However, if you have at least casual knowledge of the HTML basics, I think you'll find that Email Campaign is a good product for you. The previous comments were obviously written by people who do not know HTML. You will need a good SMTP service. Email Campaign only works with external SMTP services; it does not include a built in SMTP mail server. Many SMTP mail servers will limit you to 100 or perhaps 400 email messages per day. If you plan to send more, look for a service that specializes in higher volumes. I use [...] but there may be others as well. Of course, all the reputable SMTP services will disable your account if you send spam, as they should.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Since its a one-time price, I bought MAC EmailCampaign to try. I was a user of ConstantContact off-&-on for a few years. CC was a great innovative cloud application in the beginning at a great price.Pros: It was easy to learn, easy to use, and the feedback on who was clicking on links was great. Cons: the templates get old looking after a while and lose their appeal- "fancy" becomes cheezy. I noticed more corporate email applications where labeling my email as spam sending to Trash or barring them all together. Macware EC: Cons: It isn't as intuitive as CC. I'm glad I had a few years of experience, because I knew what I wanted to do and dug around until I figured out how to do it. The tracking of in-message clicked links is missed. Better learn HTML tags to personalize messages. Pros: the big advantage is getting around junk email filters by limiting the sending to multiple groups of 5 email addresses until all emails are sent. The backgrounds are minimalistic to put it mildly, but an unintended consequence is that most recipients believe I'm writing just to them. Overall: I'm saving user fee Of $24/mo. More messages are getting to corp. recipients without them having to "ok" my initial email. I'm getting more calls from recipients as opposed to me calling them because they think it is personalized. I miss the in-message tracking.

The Most Infuriating Computer Program,

This review is from: Macware Email Campaign (CD-ROM)
Horrible, just horrible.I bought this because MAC Leopard only comes with a few design templates and none fit my needs, so when the box says it has more than 300, how could I go wrong I thought? These are NOT templates, all nice and neatly laid out. You have to choose a background, a header, a color, etc. But that is NOT what makes this program horrible. It's the fact that you must click on each folder, then another, then another, and yes, one more time, before you get to see a PICTURE of what you want. And if you like it, you better memorize the title perfectly because there are 10 other items just like it. In this day and age, not having an easily accessible picture for user to see is like someone trying to sell a high price item on craig'slist without a photo. Why even bother. DO NOT BUY THIS if you are not tech savvy.

An Email Marketing Campaign Option to recommend,

This review is from: Macware Email Campaign (CD-ROM)
This is a common problem faced when we buy online and the developer expect most people know how to configure html. But i think it will work great once it is tested a few more times. But, it's lacking a 'personalized' email features. we need personalized email with the sender details built in it to get attention in your subscribers inbox. But, i have and easier suggestion to solve this email marketing misery. There are two leading products (actually there's more but i just want to highlight these two. Mailloop and Aweber. But First let see what email marketing can do, Here's what this might look like... 3 days after subscribing: sends your "FAQ promotion" -- that deals with the most common pre-sale objections and asks for the order again! 7 days after subscribing: sends your "Package Offer" -- that offers a 25% discount on TWO products, packaged together. 14 days after subscribing: sends a FREE Report that explains the benefits of using your product -- and asks for the order again! 21 days after subscribing: sends a "Success Story" e-mail packed with testimonials from satisfied clients -- and asks for the order again! 30 days after subscribing: sends your "FREE Trial Offer" -- that lets people who haven't bought yet sample your product risk-free! you know, Its good to go auto pilot. Mailoop - goes on one time purchase and you get unlimited autoresponder and customize email campaign. With Aweber, You pay more as your business grow. With limited budget this is great. But i personally recommends Mailloop. [...] |
