Excellent researched book,
By Ameer Hamza Adhia (Karachi, Pakistan) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mammals of Pakistan (Hardcover)
This book is the ultimate research work on all the wild mammals found across Pakistan. T. J, who spent years researching and then writing this one, had spent a lifetime on the work. Fortunately for readers, photographs of rare animals have also been provided so you get an idea how an animal looks like. Off course, experts know how a certain mammal exactly looks like but photographs gives a layman like myself a picture. Unfortunately, over the years since this book first appeared on the scene, many animals have dwindled due to excessive hunting of rare species. The populations of Sindh Ibex, Markhor and perhaps that of Marco Polo have declined substantially.
The plus point: This book contains the map and markings of all the mammals described within. Published by OUP, Pakistan. |
