5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Debut Cd!, September 23, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: meet me at the fair (Audio CD)
For those of you who have discovered the Pushstars since "After the Party", I highly recommend this - their first recording. It is an upbeat, thoughtful cd that will make you think while you dance. The songs flow together nicely and there are many brilliant moments showing the versatility of the band and the stellar songwriting of Chris Trapper. I love the live, acoustic "Wild Irish Rose", but I also love the show stopping rockers like "Me" and "Lack of Motion". There's no filler or wasted space on this one - every song is good and if you're feeling a little down - just stick it in your cd player, turn the volume up a bit and I GUARANTEE you you'll feel better. It's hard to describe - you really have to hear it for yourself - but if you appreciate well crafted, catchy, intelligently written songs that have something just a little different about them, check this one out - you'll be hooked.

5.0 out of 5 stars It catches you., May 18, 1999
This review is from: Meet Me at the Fair (Audio CD)
I have to concur with the other review. I discovered this disc when I was working at a college radio station a couple of years ago. It is catchy and it is fun and it can be complicated and meaningful. New album comes out today, 5/18/99, and I'm buying it today based solely on "Meet Me at the Fair." "Lack of Motion" was the first track I heard, and it's still my favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars A bit more "raw" than After the Party, But still Great..., March 7, 2000

This one is a bit more "raw" than After the Party, but still a great CD. If you liked "After", you'll like this one too. Not quite as much "pop", but the same kind of great song writing and tempos that make the newest release great. You can tell that most of the songs were first tried in small clubs, and they work just as well on the CD...

5.0 out of 5 stars You can look but you'll unlikely find a better CD, May 18, 1999

Luckily I heard about this band long before they got huge (and they will). I have been able to catch them live as an opening act twice. The album captures the energy of the live performance and is an excellent recording. Looking forward to the new release and to some headline shows. If you like Marshall Crenshaw, Candy Skins, Lighting Seeds or anything else that's pop candy and will give you cavities, you'll like the Push Stars. Improve the quality of your miserable life by picking up this great recording. Then continue to ride the wave by sharing with friends. You'll be the envy of all. My favorite part... all that sound from three people.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great, catchy, well written album!, January 11, 1999

Ever since the day I was introduced to their music I've been a fan. The fourth cut on "Meet Me at the Fair", "Sinking in it" is by far my favorite. Everytime I listen to it I find myself singing along like I'm a background vocalist for the band. That would never happen. I highly reccomend this album. It delivers flavorful arrangements with catchy hooks all over the album. If you like this one be sure to check out their up-comming release in the spring. I can not wait!!! Happy listening!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't miss out!, June 15, 2000
This review is from: meet me at the fair (Audio CD)
This is a nessisary disc to have in any alternitive/pop music collection. There is a song for any mood, and beware because these songs are almost guarenteed to evoke memories that will make you an emotional roller coaster. Not violent at all. Great with Meet me at the Fair their other CD. Once you know the Push stars you will be hooked
