There is so much good to say I don't know where to start. Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils are definately worth the price. These are not your ole Crayola watercolor pencils for the kids. What intrigues me is how much this medium of watercolor pencils calls out to your own style and drawing out your own creativity. You can draw as pencil and then paint over with water, dip in water like a rad marker, or make little pools on a pallette and mix in, just to start with a few methods. The colors on these are incredible.
My favorite method thus far is to ink my basic shapes as you would in cartoon drawing. Then come back to fill in areas with the pencils dry. Then to lightly transform the dry color with water on a small brush. There is so ... full review -

These inks are wonderful on fabric. I use them to enhance my digital prints of original photographs. They are not nearly as messy as using tubes or tablets. Amazon Verified Purchase. -

I have been an abstract watercolor artist for more then 20 years, I have used several different brands of pencils, Rexel Derwent are without an question simply the best you can buy, they have out standing quality in both blending and pigment, the fills are very durable and have never had any breakage. Spend the money, you will not be disappointed. -

I bought this set after taking a local class. We were taught to use them on fabric using the 5 color set. I was so impressed I bought the largest set available. If I can't find something locally, Amazon is the first place I look for something. When water is added, the color gets really intense so go very light at first and get a feel for them. We heat set them with an iron since it was on fabric. I haven't tried them on paper yet. -

Such a great variety of colors and for a wonderful price. Glad I bought these. The only issue is that the tin lid doesn't stay shut very well but I've seen that issue on all water color tins...easily fixed with a rubber band around it! -

At first glance, the colors aren't very metallic, but if you look at it at an angle, it is pretty shiny. I love that they are water soluble, but the washes aren't very metallic at all. :/ Either way, I love mine and I am glad I got them. -

These babies are all core. No wood. Derwent claim that this delivery gives you 4 times more usable material than a traditional coloured pencil. They come in 24 colours and can be used wet or dry. You can peel back the paper cover too and use them in broad sweeps.
Not bad lightfastness - mostly 7s and 8s, but there are a few 4s and 5s and the Burnt Carmine, which is a lovely colour indeed is a 3. -

I have been using this box for several month now and I love it. I purchased it for my sketch kit which I carry daily. The box is ideal. It is so small, I forget it's in my bag. It holds a large palette for the size. I love being able to swap the pans out. The mixing areas work well and cleanup nicely. I suggest you purchase extra half pans to have on hand. Although it is designed to hold 12 half pans, it actually can fit up to 14 without any modification to the box- simply slide them over in the holder. With modification, I can fit 20. I liked the kit so much, that I just ordered the large box with full pans for plein air and the studio. Enjoy! What a great box!
