Is microsoft 2010 compatible with windows xp

You should be able to install the 32-bit version of MS Office 2010 on Win XP, Service Pack 3. Refer to blogs.technet.com/b/office2010/archive/2010/01/22/office-2010-system-requirements.aspx for more information, including hardware requirements.
I've been using this product on a Windows 7 machine.

Yes I have windows xp and that is why I bought Microsoft office 2010.

I don't use XP so I am not sure. The box says Windows XP w/service pack 3 (32 bit operating system only)
