I've been using it for a couple days and I'm very pleased. I recorded my class lecture last night and was able to get a good recording quality for its small compact size. I tried to re-encode some video to play with this and was not able to get it work, but I didn't buy this to watch movies or anything like that so it is not an inconvenience. However, I did enjoy how the sample video looked so I may try it sometime later. Same thing with the image viewer.

The small screen is great though. You're able to see the time, battery life, icon that shows its in play, pause, stop mode, the filename/id3 tag (depends on your setting), which song file you're playing and the time sequence, all in that small screen without it looking so cluttered. It is a little hard to see when you're out in the sun, but setting the contrast level to high somewhat fixes this problem. Indoors, crystal clear.

Its other features include SRS, FM radio, podcast, and a lot more setting management than I would expect from this little thing. LCD display, contrast, scroll speed, alarm, auto power down for when sleeping, EQ bandwidth, FM auto search, fade in, and lots more.

Controls are as simple as anything out in the market and it's headphones deliver great quality sound. The best feature I enjoy that it is like a hard drive. Just drag and drop a file to any folder and that's it. No need for a program to set up your files for you.

Negatives is just encoding video, and that it can be easily lost when not wearing the necklace type headphones.

I bought this knowing of its small size and even smaller screen size. Screen size is about .5 inch by .5 inch and does not at all lessen the ease of navigation.

My daughter asked "Santa" for an i-pod video, but due to the price, and potential risk of damaging it (she's 10 yo), I tried to convinced her the cube was the real deal to ask Santa for. Anyway, she was kind of skeptic but she agreed to ask for it, so I came to amazon and bought one right on time to have it prior to 24th.
I was lot more anxious than her to open the box, so finally on the morning of 25th I had it on my hand; what an amazing piece of tech is this. I also saw cnet reviews about how hard are the menus and also to press the tiny buttons, but I almost completely disagree (is just a matter of using it 2 or 3 times to be fully able to use them). I have big hands, and so far no big problems to manipulate controls. Of course you don't have a HDTV on that tiny screen, but good enough to watch, maybe, a video of you preferred artist? or have some pics on it you can show your friends? Also even tough it looks fragile, putting the protection "shirt" in it makes it feel a lot more secure. Sound quality ... EXCELLENT.
I have no eagle eye vision, but, enough good to read the screen, which as the previous comment pointed, may be hard to read only for those with poor vision.
How easy is to load and delete music and/or files on it, not requiring any software, only copy/paste knowledge.
In short, I strongly recommend this tiny device as a great and price-worthy gift, and I haven't had a chance to download video or pics yet, but I'm sure it won't be complex as some people says on forums. Once I'm experienced on this I'll post my point of view, but it will hardly be to say it's as complex as sending a rocket to the moon :)

If you value cool things, design, music and don`t need pictures and video on your mp3 player, go for it. The only thing I miss is faster forwarding\rewinding. The speed doesn`t go up when you want to forward\rewind e.g. 100 min. set, it takes a while to get to the end.
The SRS sound is great.

First the flaw: BATTERY LIFE, BATTERY LIFE, BATTERY LIFE! Arg it's soooo frustrating to get cut off in the middle of a song without any warning! The Cube2 is advertised with a 10-hr playback time but it's less than that. Maybe if you played it at a super low volume with no display? The battery indicator gives an inaccurate reading because once it drops to two bars, you're out of juice. Well it's the tiniest player/recorder out there so how much battery life can you really expect?
Hopefully they'll come up with firmware or something to address this...
Now the good qualities: GREAT sound, easy to user interface, amazing controls for playback and recording. AND you get to watch video too, though you might go blind from it.
I had to send my first player back because it crashed. Needless to say, I was promptly given a new replacement so I was quite pleased with the level of customer support at Mobiblu.
You might also want to invest in a locking device for this little thing. People just can't keep their !@*&^$&! mitts off this.

Good points: Very cute, very small, good fm reception and recording - i guess those who complain about fm reception should complain with their local radio station lol... :) good sound quality.

Bad points: The video function is useless, i mean, there's no point on watching videos on such a small screen. Don't get me wrong, THE VIDEO QUALITY IS NOT BAD, it is actually better than i expected, but the screen is just too small. Overall for such a small player this function is a plus, but dont buy this if your main reason is the video function, because i dont think you will use it much. Some people reviewed that the menus and the buttons are a problem, i got used to it very fast, but they are a weak point on the product.

Conclusions: I like it very much. Its not the greatest on menus, inner software or buttons. But has great design, great size, and still very good sound quality and decent quality on all of its functions.

First off, I did have a little trouble with it freezing when I first got it but I formated the drive and it has been flawless since. You're not gonna use the screen to watch entire movies but it's cool that you can. The software converted wma movies perfectly and fairly quickly but still can't convert avi files. Pictures get cut off a bit. Overall though, sounds great. Gets lots of attention. I would definitely recommend.

This thing is amazing! the MobiBlu Cube 2 manages to cram video and photo capabilities, FM radio, a voice recorder, and of course, the ability to play mp3's and wav's, all into this 1 inch cube! I have been playing around with it for quite a while, and it is very easy to use. I have read in some reviews, that the menu system is cumbersome and difficult to navigate, but I have had no problem whatsoever with this. There is a surprising number of features and options in the cube, as well as excellent sound quality. You may think "why in the world would I want to watch a video or look at pictures on a .66" by .66" screen, but I will tell you, it is worth it. The quality of the screen is great! You can easily recognize videos and pictures. The only reason why I would tell anyone not to buy the MobiBlu cube is if you have poor eyesight. If so, reading the small screen could be difficult. Otherwise, this is the most amazing mp3 player on the market!

Had it not been such a "process" to return, I probably would have sent this back. I already own the MobiBlu DAH-1500i 1GB player which is awesome. While the 2 GB version has more space and a full color screen, it isn't as good a product in my opinion. First off, the sound quality is not as good as the 1500i. Not that the Cube2 doesn't sound good... just not as good.
My real problem with this unit is that some mp3's won't play correctly once the lighted display shuts off. For some unknown and inexcusable reason, when the display goes dark, the speed of the song slows way down. It doesn't change the pitch, just the speed. And it only does it on certain songs. As soon as you touch a button to make the display come on, the song returns to normal speed.... until the light goes off again. Extremely annoying! Sure you could leave the display on at all times, but then there goes your battery life.
The video playing option is a neat feature, but you have to install a program that comes with the player to "convert" your MPG/AVI/WMV to whatever crazy type of file this thing accepts, and then it won't display it properly because the dimensions of the screen are not right. So it's either "squeezed" looking or something gets cut off. Not worth the hazzle of converting.
I also tried out the picture feature. Making sure my pic was the same size/file type/resolution as the sample pics that are already installed, I put it in the same folder but it will not display it. It shows that its there, but won't actually show the picture. LAME.
I'm sure I could figure all these problems out if I messed around with it long enough, but I shouldn't have to. All of these things aside, I would still use it if it sounded as good as my old one, but it doesn't. Instead, I'll just go back to using my 1GB version and let my wife have this one, since she won't care about the things I've complained about.

I am not a hard core music geek. This is perfect for my needs, small size, easy to operate out of the box, holds about 1000 high quality songs. It has a ton of functions, it is like the swiss army knife of mp3's. One draw back is the poor quality ear buds that come with the player.

I got these mainly because ive never seen anything like it before but it wasn't that great. The sound was really low and it was a hassle to navigate through songs.
