5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Bluetooth Option for your MacBook!, November 11, 2007
I've been using a wireless Mighty Mouse for a while now, and it was good at first - very convenient, but over the course of time, it's horrid tracking started annoying me more and more. It wasn't so bad as to be unusable, but definitely not acceptable for a $70 mouse. So, when I saw this one at my local Apple store, I picked it up to give it a go. It is heads, tails (or lack thereof), and shoulders ahead of the WMM, and my Mighty Mouse will be hitting eBay soon. It's a very nice size, and while the bottom plastic does seem a tad on the "flimsy" side, the mouse overall has a very nice feel to it. I have monstrous hands, and even though it is a notebook mouse, it is very comfortable in the hand. The tracking is obscene. I had to have it turned all the way up for my Mighty Mouse to make it usable. I paired the Razer, and had a hard time moving the mouse slowly enough to be controllable. It tracks on every surface I've used it on, and in a lot of ways, is just as good - if not better - than my old Logitech MX1000 laser that I used for a few years - and that was a high-end desktop wireless mouse. There is NO lag whatsoever - another flaw that the Mighty Mouse had plagued me with - and I simply couldn't be much happier with it. ESPECIALLY since it matches my black MacBook a heck of a lot better than the white mighty mouse did.

The only issue I had with it is that it randomly lost it's pairing once for about 10 seconds before picking right back up again. Also haven't seen yet what battery life will be.

4.5 stars out of 5. The 0.5 off is for 2 things - first being the somewhat cheap feeling plastic bottom (the top part feels fantastic - almost suede-like) and the second is for the drop in pairing. A definite must-have if you're considering a bluetooth notebook mouse.

[EDIT] Well, it's a bit over a year later, and my opinion of the mouse has changed SIGNIFICANTLY. While great at first, tracking and everything else pertaining to the mouse went downhill very quickly. Within 3 months, it was virtually unusable and has been sitting in it's box in my desk drawer every since. I can't bring myself to throw it away since I paid $70 for the thing. I have been using the Logitech VX Nano for the past 3 months, and unless it too craps out, like it even better than I originally liked the Razer. Give it a looksee!

1.0 out of 5 stars Sleeps in 3 to 5 seconds causing erratic movement., June 27, 2008
By J. Riga (Columbus, Ohio United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Aesthetically, this mouse is quite nice. Unfortunately, Razer built this mouse with some level of stupidity involved... the mouse (once paired with the computer) sleeps itself after only 3 to 5 seconds. Waking it up is simple enough, just move it. The issue comes from the mouse trying to 'catch up' from your wake-up movement. It shoots across the screen. It's a big deal when web browsing and you stop moving for a few seconds to read something, then go to click on to another page and the cursor shoots 4 inches away from the intended target. Makes photoshop and illustrator work frustrating, as well as simply browsing the web, reading emails... everything, really.

Thought I got a bad mouse, so returned to Amazon, they sent a new one. Same issue. Tried on 2 Macbook Pros, 1 Windows XP box, and 1 Windows Vista box. Same issue on all systems with BOTH mice.

I gave 1 stars since when it works the tracking is very good and the finish and style is very nice. All it needs to be able to do is mouse around, and it can't do that. Skip it. Replaced it with the Microsoft (aghh!) BT Mouse 5000. No issues with the MS mouse - works perfectly. Not as pretty, but at least I can USE the thing.

Razer simply needs to correct the issue the mouse has in it's firmware. I contacted them and they "made a note of it". This is the MOST basic issue, but one that simply cripples the mouse for any type of real work.

1.0 out of 5 stars Quit working after 5 days!, January 28, 2009
I thought this mouse was great when I first received it. I read how others complained about the mouse going to sleep and having to wait a few seconds for it to work, but I found this to be more like one second. If my computer was asleep or in screensaver mode the mouse was working by the time the screen was active anyway.

It connects only without using a passkey which I don't like, but it always seemed to connect just fine. Until yesterday morning, my 5th day of owning the mouse, and my computer couldn't find it. I had to reboot and turn off/on the mouse and got it going again. But then the left-click quit working. I can switch it to left-handed mode in order to use the right button for left click but then I have no right click.

I'm planning on returning this item. This is not the quality I expected from Razer!
