5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!
This is a great CD! The lyrics are fun and witty but the music is complex with tons of guitar. I saw them live opening for British Sea Power recently and it was amazing. If you love BSP, you will love Colourmusic.

2.0 out of 5 stars A bit too all over the board.
Great few songs but over all middling. With some good headphones the good songs are great but shooting 2 for 13 isn't the best record.

I was fortunate to see these guys open for British Sea Power in Seattle last year. They put on a great show, filled with solid guitar riffs, great lyrics and a vibrant stage presence. This is a great CD for road trips or long bus rides. A staple on my rotation these days.

....this is pure, colorful sounds. That's what it is. You remember colorful sounds don't you? Remember, sounds that make you smile, help you dance, or release notes from your voice? Yes, Colourmusic makes those sounds for your enjoyment.

Poppy? Yes. Hipsterish? Just a dash. Fun? I believe that's what this album and group are all about.

Put it on, and wear it out. Like an old t-shirt, it's good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Optimistic, September 21, 2008
This review is from: f, monday, orange, february, venus, lunatic, 1 or 13 (Audio CD)
I have been feeling a bit cynical about music in the past few years. So many bands of both corporate and "indie" nature have seemed to be a bit adolescent in their creative presentations. I guess what I'm saying is that we've seen it all before and are ready for something new. I have finally come across a band that has given me an OPTIMISTIC perspective on what is yet to come. They come all the way from Oklahoma and have proven that music of today can take a newly wonderful direction. They integrate theories of art, sound and physics into their stage performance. Their newly released album is a beautiful orchestration of sounds that are a marriage of Violent Femmes and Andrew Lloyd Weber's "Jesus Christ Superstar!" They have continued to take chances beyond the process of song writing by even naming their album "f, monday, orange, february, venus, lunatic, 1 or 13." Thank you Sir Isaac Newton for Colourmusic!!
