It is nothing more than a rubber band!

This is just for lateral fit for bill as in the picture, and a credit card or something hard needs to bundle together.

The purpose of the money band is to let you carry all your vital information with you, but just not in your wallet.

I've been keeping my money and cards in my front pocket for nearly twenty years and have tried all sorts of different wallets, holders and other doodads. I am a minimalist carrying probably less than ten bills and eight cards (personal credit, work credit, ATM, driver's license, FOID, and gym).

My longest lasting solution was the very cleverly named Front Pocket Wallet which I finally decided to deviate from because it, as slim as it was, still added bulk and also really scuffed up the cards due to the way it holds them. I then switched to a binder clip which was a surprisingly good solution except the metal scuffs everything and feels a bit harsh in the pocket. So I set out looking for an alternative - thinking I'd have to get the dreaded money clip.

I stumbled on the Money Band during an inspired keyword search session (they need some SEO help) and the simplicity of the idea really appealed to me. Unlike many solutions that extrapolate from a simple idea but make it expensive, the Money Band keeps it simple and cheap. Yes, it's expensive for a rubber band but it's a really nice rubber band and it's still dirt cheap compared to a wallet or money clip. And come on, it's less than your morning latte.

So how does the Money Band work? I'd say it works reasonably well. I won't go into how it works since everyone is familiar with the operations of a rubber band. But I will say that the rubber band is sized perfectly to wrap around a bundle held by credit and ID cards - not loose but not too tight. It's also very durable and I don't see it breaking under my normal use. I can't speak to how it'd hold up over time if you have a huge bundle but I would say that would not be it's intended use.

There are a few minor annoyances.

This is a like a rubber band that fits perfectly for your credit cards
and other cards that are about the same size. The purpose of the money band
is to let you carry all your vital information with you, but just not in your wallet.
It creates more space in your wallet for other things and is also useful because should
someone want to rob you for your wallet you can throw it away and not lose anything
valuable or that could be used to identify you. If this is your purpose I suggest simply
using your wallet to hold nonessentials and some money ($20) at most.

I have had it for months now and it hasn't broke. Buy it :)

Update** April 2012

My money band finally broke!! it lasted quite a while so I say it is a fair buy.

It seems silly how simple this is, but it really does work well. I have used a number of money clips, however this is the most flexible and comfortable one that I've ever tried. Highly recommend.

I purchased 3 of these for my boyfriend who loves them. He was tired of a wallet and then a money clip and for a while was actually using a rubber band. When I gave him these he said that it was exactly what he wanted. The bands comfortably hold cash, credit cards, and ID without adding bulk. The 3 bands last him for a little over a year. Not bad if you ask me. I would recommend for anyone who wants the less is more approach to a wallet.

Yes, it is made of rubber. 100% No fillers, no surprises, the perfect band for your money, credit cards, and ID cards. It does what it says, and then some. Using money-band saves you from being a George Costanza, and saves you from the trap of buying expensive wallets. It's waterproof, durable, light, won't add bulk. Keeps your wallet lean and mean.

My wife loves hers in her purse for organizing credit cards and business cards on travel trips. Always starts a discussion.

I've been using money-band since 2006 and I can't see a reason to go back to anything else.

P.S. This is not a rubber-band from the produce section. Money-band is purpose-built for organizing stuff in your pocket or purse.

Not quite what you think but not less than you expect for the money. Low cost for decent but not great quality product .

These 'Money bands" are useless, and I am embarrassed that I actually spent money on these black rubber bands. The guy from Soprano's sell broccoli bands, much better and look nice. These I would have been better off with the rubber band that goes around the Asparagus from the market for free.
