Book Description

November 1, 2005
This expanded second edition gives you an in-depth look at the data structures of SAP HR. First, gain a thorough understanding of the concept of information models, through which the master data in HR is structured. Then, learn about the individual information models of personnel administration and time management. Using the concise explanations, and step-by-step instructions, you'll also quickly discover how to customize key applications and generate special reports, while saving time and avoiding costly errors. Special features of HR role and authorization concepts are clearly defined-from both the functional and technical perspectives. This revised edition comes with entirely new chapters on designing HR forms using the HR Forms Workplace, on reporting tools (HIS and Ad-hoc Query) as well as on interface programming with the Interface Toolbox and BAdIs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great information about authorizations in HR, November 21, 2003
By A Customer
Everything I need is right there with a good level of detail. The special aspects of authorizations in HR are explained on more than 50 pages in this book. Although I'm working for more than 8 years with SAP HR I found some tips and tricks which already saved me a lot of time (and money for our company).

4.0 out of 5 stars useful one volume work, November 15, 2003

It is very good to have all this key information in one work. Lots of useful technical hints, and no marketing!
The translation (typical of technical books translated from German) is a bit stodgy, and could have done with a bit more native speaker input. Other than that, suggest that any one needing handy reference work should buy this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Introduction in SAP HR Techniques, November 13, 2003
By A Customer
The book is a unique book about SAP HR Technology.
The chapter about ESS (Employee Self Service), the area where I work recently, is of great value for my daily work.
