Great insight into the days of the ground effects cars...
I absolutely love this book and actually submitted questions to Niki Lauda via the Shell fuel website regarding his opinion on the fitness of drivers from the Ground FX days as compared to todays drivers. I never got an answer from him but his in-car experience translates extremely well in his book. It's a great trip back in the days of F1.

Lauda's rant against "ground effects" in Formula One!
Niki Lauda is not a great writer, but he is an honest, straight-forward critic of "ground effects" and the damage they did to driving skill in the late 1970s and early 1980s. This highly technical book is a diffcult read for non-engineers, but Lauda's outspokeness is a refreshing change from today's PR-oriented drivers. Dated, but still interesting.
