Product Description

The long awaited debut album from La Femme NIKITA hits stores! MTV's Making The Band 3, 1st season finalist Natasha Walton, better known as La Femme NIKITA hails from Texarkana, Texas. Natasha has been singing church solos, performing in talent shows and writing her own songs since the age of 7. At 13 she started rapping, thus her alter ego La Femme NIKITA was born. 4.0 out of 5 stars Finally! A new female emcee who's worth listening to!, August 13, 2007
By Sean Fisher "The Hu$tla" (Shreveport, LA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: nom de code: NIKITA (Audio CD)
Nikita is able to span the gamut of contemporary and classic hip hop idioms, and shouldn't be pigeonholed as a "dirty south" style artist simply because she hails from the Lone Star State. She has an outstanding vocal range and a keen sense of phrasing - her rhymes are delivered in a smooth and rhythmic manner, as opposed to the staccato full automatic approach espoused by many other emcees these days. It was as if I was blind, listening to a movie through earphones, taking in the visual portions of the movie through an audio track that described actions I couldn't see. With 17 scene selections to choose from, nom de code: NIKITA is a tense, polished, well-recorded Hip Hop/Rap album that demonstrates skilled production, with an incredible amount of social commentary! Think Master P's "Mama's Bad Boy", mixed with the Hot Boys' "Get It How U Live", with a little of Lauryn Hill's "Miseducation" sprinkled on top! Hooray for the new female emcee! She's hot, young, and certainly deserves the spotlight!

4.0 out of 5 stars Gon' Sally do yo thang!, August 26, 2007
By Chanel Henry "No.5" (Houston, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: nom de code: NIKITA (Audio CD)
Lil' mama did her thang fo sho! She's got a thoed flow! I support underground artist, and the fact that's she's a female is even better! I heard homeguh on XM Satellite Radio Channel 66 Raw. It's about time we got a young guh from the south bringin' that raw Hip-Hop back! I'm tired of hearin' all that wack crap that's on the radio! I grew up listenin' to real Hip Hop cats from the south bring it like UGK, Scarface, and the Geto Boys! Pimp C is right, artist need to get back into real raw rap music with some lyrics! Now you got songs overproduced and you can't feel the struggle in the music! My favorite tracks on the CD are Sally Walker, Movin' Out, and Big Momma. That Big Momma track made me cry fo sho thinkin' about mine! That Bobblehead and Ain't Nuthin' is cool for some commercial feel I guess, but I'm not into that. I'm into that hard Hip-Hop and Gangsta Rap ya dig! Big Business and Watch Yo Mouf, those tracks are Gangsta! I can just imagine what she'll bring with that major money behind her! I just hope she don't change and get all commercial on me. Keep it street!
