Our charity's trustees chose this version for distribution in Chile to 6 to 8 year olds after reviewing a number of Bibles for children. This was our favourite children's Bible for several reasons: (1) it includes all the major Bible stories (2) a faithful retelling of the Bible text in a way which is very suitable and interesting for children (3) 366 stories, one for each day of the year (4) each story is followed by two or three questions to involve the children and to help them to grasp the lesson (5) each one has a prayer, often including a practical application (e.g. after Solomon's prayer for wisdom is answered, the prayer is, "Lord, I thank you because you are so wise. Help me to be wise as well.") (6) every story is accompanied by a beautiful illustration which is reasonably realistic without looking old-fashioned.

Its one fault is that it has only Bible stories, so any teaching has to be drawn out of stories like Daniel in the lions' den and Jesus's parable of the two sons. Prophetic teaching, the Psalms, the Sermon on the Mount, the New Testament letters, and God's promised new Earth are excluded. For this reason some parents and teachers might prefer "La Biblia en un año para niños" by Rhona Davies, but that is more suitable for older children and it provides no questions or prayers.

Reading a page of this book each evening to young children and going through the questions and prayers will provide the best possible foundation for their lives by helping them to know and trust the Lord. Older children who have learned to read will treasure such a beautiful book. We have photos of children in Chile who have received these Bibles looking absolutely delighted!

This is a really good way to teach your kids about the bible. No sabia como empezar con mi hija de 4 anos y decidi comprar este libro y estoy encantada. Los cuadros son lindos e inspirantes para mi hija que esta desesperada cada noche para que le lea las historias. Ni siquiera tengo que hacer preguntas, porque las preguntas vienen incluidas en la redaccion y mi hija las responde inmediatamente. Al mismo tiempo cada historia -relatada en lenguaje sencillo para ninos- tiene al final una oracion relacionada y que les ensena a orar con palabras faciles. It's just great!. I really recommend it!.

This was a great book. It has a short story accompanied by a picture, questions and a prayer. It also had the scripture listed it was taken from so that one could look up the story in the Bible. The pictures helped English speakers know which story was which.
