Product Description

Featuring funky, colorful, and hip projects for city and country dwellers alike, this new "stand up" hands-free book is definitely not your grandmother's quilting guide ...

Quirky Quilts is a sassy guide to everything the novice or intermediate quilter needs to execute nearly 20 dazzling projects that will add style and fun to the hippest city apartment or country home. The original projects range from throws, pillowcases, baby blankets and wallhangings to less traditional items like a "boyfriends t-shirts" quilt and a totebag for hauling your yoga mat. Each project is illustrated with easy-to-follow, step-by-step, full color instructional photos.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not too bad........., February 3, 2009
This is a fun little project book, but if you are a very beginner to quilting techniques, you may need a little more instruction. Also if you are an expert, this book may just bore you. There are, as other reviews said, just some sewing projects in here as well. All in all ok, but glad I bought it used and got it super cheap!

4.0 out of 5 stars Quirky Sewing, too!, November 7, 2008
By Erik "Creative Director/Host" (In the design studio) - See all my reviews
I first picked up this book beacause of the title. It has some good, easy projects in it...but not all of it is quilting! There are also some simple sewing projects in this book. What I do like is the approach of taking something old, used, or worn-out, and recycling it into something new, and often fun! This book has some good ideas that sparked my imagination...if I don't make the same project as in the book, I may be able to use the idea some other way. Some of these ideas ARE pretty unsual! I do think this book would really make a nice gift especially for a young person who is learning to sew!

2.0 out of 5 stars craft books, April 11, 2007
By craftn gma (California) - See all my reviews
I'm not as pleased with this book as I thought I would be. The projects are unusual, quick to do, but not the type of projects I prefer. I rated it low because of the slow arrival. I was notified of shipping on 3/14, but it wasn't delivered until today, 4/11. All other items ordered through Amazon arrived on time, or much sooner than expected. This is the only time I have been dissatisfied with the service.
