5.0 out of 5 stars Best AP Chem review book available!, July 8, 2006
I owned or perused several different review books for the AP Chemistry Exam, but this was certainly the best. I've never seen an AP book as perfectly on-target as this one. Certain books (like Barron's AP Chem) contain too much information where it actually impedes your preparation, whereas others contain too little (which Princeton Review sometimes tends to do). But this book gets the combination just right. It reviews ALL of the necessary facts and concepts you need to know, and excludes everything you don't need to know. Trust me when I say that this book is on the money. And oh, I got a 5.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Good Review of Chemistry Concepts... But..., January 13, 2007
A Kid's Review
I Bought Princeton Review's AP Chemistry 2006-2007. I looked through the book, and it's a great review, and my teacher says it's a good book to use. However, I was hoping this new book would cover the changes in the test for the 2007 AP Chemistry Test. It doesn't. It doesn't affect the content of the book other than the practice tests.

In the old AP Chemistry Test (2006 and before) Section I counted 45% of the score, and Section II counted 55%. Now (2007), they count equally.

Also, Section II worked differently.
All Students would answer Question 1 (Equilibrium with Calculator)
Students would choose between Questions 2 and 3 (Calculator)
All Students would answer Question 4 (Equations Non-Calculator)
All Students would answer Questions 5 and 6 (One is a Lab Question Non-Calculator)
Students would choose between Questions 7 and 8 (Non-Calculator)

Now, all students don't have any choices; they all answer questions 1-6. In addition, Question 4 is a new format. In the old test, students had 10 minutes to choose 5 equations to write out out of a choice of 8. They didn't have to be balanced. Now, all students have to write out 3 equations, balance them, and answer a question about it.

The changes don't affect what you need to know for the test, so the content inside the book is still very very helpful. However, the free responses are the old format. It's a fantastic book to review for the test. You really should work all the problems in the book. Just don't count on section II being exactly like in the book. It isn't.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book = key to getting a 5 on the AP test, July 1, 2006
I am very pleased with this book. Although there are a few typos, it gets the point out very effectively. I used it to do ALL of my studying for the AP test (along with actual AP practice tests) and got a 5!!!Just make sure you go through the free response questions in each section, even if u dont do the multiple choice.
