4.0 out of 5 stars Take a Tour of a Galaxy Far Far Away Every Day of the Year!, January 11, 2004
"The Star Wars: Characters, Creatures and Droids 2004 Boxed Daily Calendar" is exactly what it sounds like - a run-of-the-mill daily desktop calendar with Star Wars photos gracing each tear-away page. The format of the individual pages is as follows:

* A large photo of a Star Wars character, creature, or droid located on either the left-hand side of the page or the top half of the page if the photo is widescreen-formatted.

* A border on the top of each page identifying the Star Wars character, creature, or droid, and the film in which he, she, or it appeared in.

* The year, date, and day of the week is written in a column running down the right-hand side of the page for photos on the left-hand side of the page. The same information is listed in a separate area at the bottom of the page for widescreen-formatted photos. Saturdays and Sundays share a single page with a single photo.

* Each page has a category title for the Star Wars character, creature, or droid on display. For example, a page with a photo of Boba Fett identifies him as belonging to the "Bounty Hunter" category.

* Special event days, phases of the moon, seasonal changes, and daylight savings time adjustments are listed on individual pages when appropriate.

The order of the photos are randomly ordered and not arranged by film. They feature basically all of the general and specific characters, creatures, and droids seen in the five Star Wars films released so far. None of the characters repeat themselves which is a tribute to the vast scope of the Star Wars universe. The only complaint I have about the calendar is that some of the photos from the earlier trilogy (Episode IV, Episode V, and Episode VI) are not as clear as those from the more recent films (probably due to age). Yet, that shouldn't deter any Star Wars fan from buying this calendar. What better way to count down the days to the release of Episode III!
