This book is an excellent study source for the CLEP Geeneral Math test, but it only seemed to cover about 85% of the test. The actual test was not very difficult, provided you know the rules of radicals, exponents, logic, complex numbers, logs and sets in exact detail, and this book does a good job of laying all those out. You will, however, probably need some more advanced practice problems since the book only gives a few for each subject. (Try www.purplemath.com to fill in the blanks.) Also, you will need to know histograms which this text doesn't cover at all. I would have given a four star rating, but there were several obvious mistakes in the book's practice problems.

I have been out of Math classes for quite sometime. The only thing standing between me and my BS Degree was the Clep College Mathematics test. I bought this book and I was very thankful I did. Not only did it cover all the areas on my test, it gave me practice problems with answers and explanation of how they got to that answer. It was a very helpful book and I highly recommend it. Use this book combined with the Online Clep practice tests and you should have no problem passing the test.

I suck at math. It may be a fear or genuine problem, I don't know.

I got this study guide so I could get the 6 math credits I needed to graduate college.

I read and studied everything in this book cover to cover 3 times and I took every test in this book 3 times as well. I used this book as sole preparation for my CLEP test. I beat this book to death and probably spent 30 hours reading or testing myself. I couldn't afford to fail since I had to get the 6 credits and my other options were algebra or business math... which were likely just as difficult.

I passed the CLEP test with flying colors. Much room to spare. To be honest, HARDLY ANY of the questions matched what I read, in fact, they were INCREDIBLY different and I was scared... but this book gave me the basic logic I needed to solve the problems.

Get the book, read it and study it exhaustively and you'll pass. Get the book, spend a couple hours on it, and you'll fail... unless you already know all kinds of math.
