Product Description
One of the east coast's most dynamic young bands, Hot Rod Circuit delivers forth Vagrant's most anticipated debut of 2002. Combining melody with surprising technical accuracy, 'Sorry About Tomorrow' sees a coming of age. Vagrant Records.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid effort from HRC, March 21, 2002
I've never really been a huge fan of Hot Rod Circuit. I liked some of their songs, like "Irish Car Bomb", but overall their stuff never really impressed me. However, I heard "The Pharmacist" on a new Vagrant comp and was really impressed with it. I picked up "Sorry About Tomorrow" when it came out, and It was really worth it. HRC have put together a cd that never gets dull or boring like I've found in their previous releases. One would say that they've sold out because this cd is more accesable than the other two, but I disagree, I think HRC sounds stronger overall with this new one. They take all of their good qualities from their previous cds, and they work them out to their full extent in this one, and keep the listener interested better than they did in their other cds.

"The Pharmacist", "Radiation Suit", "Now or Never", "Knees" and "Get What You Get" are my favorites. There's not a sour grape in the bunch here, the whole cd sounds cleaner, and stronger than they ever did before.

This is a very strong effort from HRC, and my favorite from them. Pick this one up, you'll be impressed with their progress.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as their previous releases....., March 19, 2002
By Chris (Easton/Kutztown PA) - See all my reviews
but catchy and good in its' own right. It's definitely been popped out, and hasn't escaped the Rites of Vagrant in that regard, and has met the same fate of Saves the Day but the only difference being the fact that Hot Rod Circuit was original in their own right to begin with. They had and continue to have their own sound, which I suppose has hurt them in record sales but helps to distinguish them from the crowd of Lifetime/At the Drive-In/NFG/Braid imitators. Best songs are tracks 2, 4, 6, 8 and 9. If you had to get just one release from Vagrant records over the past year, I'd make it this or 'Your Majesty' by the Anniversary.

2.0 out of 5 stars what happened?, April 13, 2004
By Sancho Perez (the quon) - See all my reviews
I bought this cd when it first came out as a huge HRC fan. Vagrant records also has a quality track record judging from their band roster and their ability to somehow summon up the best of a band. I thought HRC would benefit from much higher production quality as well as the influence of oustanding acts such the Alkaline Trio and Saves the Day surrounding them.. However, owning for the cd for nearly two years with many listens has made realize that the band used to create captiving, listenable hardcore is gone. Nothing about this cd particularly interesting or grabbed me even on the first listen. The disc loses its appeal early as nameless, medtempo pop crowds the speakers. The vocals are more clear, however; the trade off is less compelling melodies and a lack of creativity. Tracks like "the Pharmacist" identify a theme of short, competent, but boring songs. I haven't heard anything more form HRC released this album and I don't think i would shell out 15 bucks again for something I would hear on the radio.
