A classic favorite simulation!, February 26, 2004
I love this game! It is comparable to the Simcity and Sims games in graphics and gameplay. I have spent many hours of entertainment playing Simgolf. You start out with a piece of land and you get to build the ultimate golf course. You have to figure out how to keep your golfers happy and make money off of your course. All the little golfers have their own personalities and say different things as they are playing through your course. You can even personalize the players. I like to turn a few into people I know! There are so many great features to this game! You get to play your own course and build your own skills, then compete against other golfers or in a tournament! The golf course features for building are great! There are many features, landscaping and obstacles to choose from. Great for someone who is creative, likes golf and loves a challenge!

I bought this game a few years ago for $20 and it is still one of the best games I've ever bought. The game lets pick a part of the world you want to build a golf course, lets you design it down to the last detail and best of all you get to place the courses that you build. I never get tired of this game.

Good Fun, Easy to Pick Up and Play, February 4, 2009

I'll admit, I'm a very avid gamer with an enormous video game collection. And yet, even with all the new and sexy games that are constantly coming out, I return to this game one or twice a year and replay it for a few days because it's just good, clean fun.
Ever wanted to design your own golf course? Of course you do! Although this game doesn't have the same level of depth as some of the simulation games out there, what it loses in depth it makes up for in being easy to learn and quite entertaining. I wish I could go into more detail but I'm a working professional so I have to make this quick. In short, the game gives you a decent amount of flexibility to design a course as you see fit, all the while providing fairly clear objectives and feedback on how to improve your course and keep your golfers happy. What really keeps me coming back though are the small touches, like the conversations the golfers engage in on the course, and how their behavior changes depending on how well they are playing (which is one indicator of how well-designed your course is!) There are some things which don't work quite as well as they should, or you may find that your golfers or course just don't function exactly as you had intended or envisioned, but that's to be expected since no simulation is perfect. Overall, my complaints are minor. The nice thing is, you get to actually play the courses that you design, so you can test your hole designs out for yourself. Although the play is fairly simplified and basic, it's still fun, especially since you designed it.
Well, I have to go, but as a closing statement, I still highly recommend this game if you've never tried it. If you can pick it up for a good price, I think you'll find a hidden gem here that you'll get your money's worth from. I'm not sure why exactly but this game kind of flew under the radar when it was released, but don't let that hold you back.
