5.0 out of 5 stars great pop album moves to Mudville, USA, March 11, 2006

(REAL NAME)
Of the three Boyce & Hart records this is the best. Unfortunately, this cd issue of the album sounds terrible. The remastering job is among the worst I've ever heard. Many of the songs on this record are also on the "un-remastered" anthology collection and they sound 1000 times better. It's also upsetting that this reissue is in mono which I think was a mistake in the remastering since there's horrible phase cancellation and I'm pretty sure the original vinyl was only issued in stereo. It's unfortunate because this is one of my favorite pop records and I had been waiting so long for it to get a cd re-issuse. The two great songs that are on this album that aren't on the anthology are "Pretty Flower" and "Leaving Again". Anyone, like myself, who feels they must have these songs should either get the album on vinyl or seek out the Japanese import cd which is a little tinny but sounds leagues better than this version.

4.0 out of 5 stars Copy 754 (of 5000), July 30, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
To borrow a song title from this set, why didn't Hip-O Select make this CD "Two for the Price of One"? You know what I mean: as in combining the mono AND stereo versions of this classic B&H LP. Short as the original album was, anyone knows the two variations will fit on an eighty-minute CD with room to spare! That said, this disc is still a nice purchase, especially with duplicating the original record sleeve in miniature. Sound quality contrasts quite a bit with the Rev-Ola B&H compilation I truly ENJOY, but there is to be expected obvious differences between the mono and stereo mixes (fortunately, mono versions of albums were on the way out by the late Sixties). For not thinking ahead in terms of more "bang" for one's buck, I take off a star for this [otherwise] decent reissue: more for B&H completists than those clamoring for the stereo version ONLY. To the adventurous, I say try B&H in mono...it's not bad.
