I'd have to say that Hilary Duff is a fine example of a teen celeb/actress/singer..who deserves her own doll. Not many role models, for teens to look up to anymore.Hilary Duff has held her place,as beinga role model, unlike Avril and Christina.

Hilary Duff...??, December 21, 2004
A Kid's Review
Durability:1.0 out of 5 stars Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
In my opinion, this doll doesn't look like Hilary at all! The face on this doll looks older than Hilary Duff herself. Hilary Duff is so beautiful, and these dolls are going to make people think that she isn't! When my mom and i went to look at dolls, she said "What is this doll?" I said "Oh, thats the new Hilary Duff one", and she says "This makes Hilary Duff look WAYY older than she is!" It is the truth. Whoever Hil hired to make these dolls doesn't know how beautiful she REALLY is!!

Cute doll with nice accessories!, August 9, 2005

In general, fans seem to really dislike these Hilary Duff dolls by Playmates. The most common description is, "they look absolutely nothing like Hilary Duff." This is an extremely exaggerated claim! I sit here typing this review as a young male who is probably more infatuated with Hilary than anyone else on the planet. Yes, Hilary is the very definition of perfect female beauty (with a beautiful personality to match), and that must be a hard thing to capture on a toy. Still, not only are the Playmates brand Hilary Duff dolls VERY cute, they also DO bear a resemblance to my dream-girl, Miss Duff. No, they're not a perfect likeness, and the fact is that the strength of the likeness can vary from doll to doll. I actually mean the individual dolls, not the different styles. It's almost a matter of luck, or picking the one in the store with the best likeness, but most toys are that way. At any rate, they are scores better than the old Lizzie McGuire doll that came out years ago. Beware of one oddity though. Some of these 1994 Duff dolls have been released with an odd glaze over their faces. I don't know why they have been released like this, but those ones look awful, like their faces have been dunked in a vat of oil. Luckily, when I picked up my 3 1994 dolls at a local Toys R Us last month, they had a few of each style that didn't have the odd glaze.
Overall, assuming you get one without that weird glazed face, these dolls are very nice. The new Movie Star doll wears a lovely blue flowered dress with a sheer, sparkly layer over it. The accessories are very cute, though some are the same as the 1993 Movie Star Duff doll. Hilary carries a fringed black purse and comes with elegant white strap-on shoes, and also comes with a set of keys, a camcorder, a red toy scooter(ala the Lizzie McGuire Movie), a pink cel-phone, and my favorite, a miniature replica of one of my favorite Hilary Duff posters(the signature one where she poses in a red and white striped shirt by a haystack). The Amazon.com image also shows a photo stamper accessory. My 1993 doll came with a photo stamper, but my 1994 doll did not. It's most likely that the stamper is an occasional bonus (as was the case with the '93 dolls) available only through certain sellers. She wears her hair down loose with bangs, and the bottom line is, this doll should be quite satisfactory for the true Hilary fan. If you are sad that Hil looks a bit too waifish and borderline unrecognizable on her new "Most Wanted" album cover, the pink box of this doll is adorned with photos of Hil looking absolutely flawless (love the images wearing black, wish there was a doll in that outfit!), including a cut-out card on the back with fun facts (she's obsessed with Aerosmith?! Awesome!!!). I currently keep mine in the gorgeous boxes, unopened. The back of the box also reads, "Collect all 6!" There have, in fact, been a total of 7 dolls released (not including the Lizzie McGuire doll by Dakin). The 7th Playmates Hilary Duff doll also came out in 1994 and was a special edition of sorts. It was Movie Star Hilary Duff as Sam from "A Cinderella Story," and is also a very nice collectible for the Hilary lover. I highly recommend these lovely dolls for any Hilary fan that appreciates toys as well.
