Would I be able to see objects miles away on land? There's an airport about 40 miles away we'd love to be able to see from our hill top.

You could probably see a plane but I doubt you could make out people. 20x80 sounds impressive but I liked my 10x50 much better for daylight viewing. A lot more portable.

Yes, absolutely could see anything 40 miles away.

Anything you can see by eye, you can see 20 times larger with these. Try using them on the brightest days/evenings with low humidity for best results.

You should be able to, but you might want to use a tripod or some other way to support it, The binoculars are heavy.
