Life is a Gift is a story of a family who struggled to start a family and when they finally did, both daughters had medical issues. This loving couple struggle through all of the ups and downs but way more downs than any parent should ever have to endure. Told from the mom’s point of view, this heartbreaking story shows the true love a family can find in the face of uncertainty when they keep God in the center of everything.

Format: Paperback
Life is definitely a gift. This book made me cry and it made me laugh. It is about a mother that tells her life experience about having multiple miscarriages, having three little precious girls and about what she faces when all three little girls end up having the same genetic disorder. Jenny Miller is amazing for being able to share and write about it all. The happy and sad. She even writes about being upset with God. I can't even imagine how she felt and the pain she endured.

Book Description
Publication Date: September 1, 2011
Jenny counted her newborn's fingers and toes, amazed anew at God's tremendous gift of life-but the gift did not turn out as she hoped. Her precious baby girl, the fulfillment of her childhood dreams, had serious medical problems. As her dreams crumbled around her, Jenny wrestled with the God of her youth-a God she knew only as secure, faithful, and loving. Now her prayers rang hollow, and God seemed unpredictable, confusing, and distant. Didn't He see tears? In this tender and deeply personal story of dashed hopes and broken dreams, Jenny shares in vivid detail her struggle to accept the journey God chose for her journey of faith through which she reluctantly embraced the lessons God had set before her. Through brokenness, she gained peace, comfort, even joy and a far deeper understanding that life-all life-is a gift from God.

This book made me cry, then laugh, then cry & laugh again. It reminds us of so many lessons God is trying to teach us, how much He loves us. The author uses the journey they are on to direct readers to the Only Answer to life. You will fall in love with their little girls, and you will want to know their Jesus better. Well written book, recommended reading!

A well written and candid assessment of a mother's personal struggle to accept God's sovereignty over her children's health. This book wonderfully demonstrates how the love of Father God reaches down and feels our need of Him! I wept as I felt the emotions conveyed so powerfully through the story of Sierra's passing. This writing has further energized me to continue cultivating a high regard for all human life, "normal" or not. I recommend this book to anyone.

A very well written book. I started reading it the day in came in the mail, and couldn't put it down. I finished it that night. This book speaks to so many areas in life, most of all of God's love for us. I was challenged and reminded of all the many things I have to be thankful for, especially for my husband and children. Be sure you have a box of tissues near by cause you will certainly need them. It is the amazing story of one family depending on God through the toughest times in their lives. Especially the part of leaving their precious little daughter fly away to heaven.

Anyone who ever wonder if God has forgotten you, should read this encouraging book. It is an easy read that encourages you to look beyond the physical appearance of others truly seeing them as precious gifts from God Himself. Walks you through a difficult path of grief, allowing you to see it is okay for everyone to not only grieve differently but in your own time frame and depth. This book should come with disclaimer to go the toilet before you start and have tissues and a snack, because you will not want to put it down once you start.
