This review is from: With our faces to the foe: A history of the 4th Maine Infantry in the War of the Rebellion (Perfect Paperback)
"With Our Faces to the Foe" is the story of the 4th Maine Infantry in the American Civil War. The book follows the regiment from its formation in Rockland, Maine in 1861 to its mustering out in 1864. The regiment fought at 1st & 2nd Bull Run, The 7 Days Campaign, Fredricksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg and the Wilderness suffering over 100 combat deaths.

The book is well written and informative. It has a enough detail to be of interest to those desiring it, but does not get bogged down.

I would have rated it 5 stars if it had included a few more maps. But then again, what military history book really has enough maps!
